Medieval castle on the top of the hill overlooking the Marne. The castle is undergoing renovation when we visited. The castle itself was great. There is a bird of prey display centre this is closed on mondays..we went on a monday

The Chateau is extensive and mostly well-managed and preserved, with a visitor centre and an area where there are regular displays of birds of prey. The views over the town and surrounding countryside are beautiful.

The Friday markets are good fun. Il Calcio restuarant good for pizza and a sit down afterwards. Found the ruins on the hill underwhelming and the bird or prey show average but ok.

The castle is about1,600 years old. It is in ruins, but many archeological digs have turned up interesting items and facts about how it began back in the 5th century. Admission is free, and well worth the visit. It offers great views of Chateau- Thierry....More

This is definitely worth a walk. You can either walk from the city up, which is climbing stairs, or drive with the car up, then this is a relaxed visit. The view is nice over the village

This chateau is apparently organised by the local council and it shows. The ticket office was due to open at 2 and was 15 minutes late causing a huge queue. The 3pm bird show was 15 minutes late starting. Virtually all written descriptions are in...More

The round trip from Reims was 25 Euro pp. It wasn't worth it. Maybe if we had taken a tour, it would have been nicer since the tour drops you off at the center instead of having to climb up. We took the stairs from...More

A very pleasant walk around the outer walls and in through the only remaining town gate provided extensive views of the town and surrounding countryside. Sadly the video, which I very much wanted to see , was closed. I suggest they publish the times it...More

1 hour train ride from Paris to this quiet town where the US Marines assisted the French in holding off the Germans preventing them from entering Paris. The superintendent of the cemetery was very warm and welcoming. We walked around the cemetery, chapel and woods...More

Right in the centre of town is this quiet haven, with much that is unusual in a castle. It is maintained structurally, in fact work on some walls was going on when we visited, but this is probably ongoing as it is very extensive. There...More

Hi, I would say it's a one day visit. Far from a village Thierry is a large town. The Castle battlements on the hill are worth a visit, you can just walk around but I don't remember seeing signs in English. They have a bird... More
