We took a guided tour of the elite Cadre Noir riding school, so named because the riders wear all black uniforms. The guide gave the history of the riding school (the horses used to be trained for the military, but today they are used for equestrian shows and competitions), talked about the different riding figures and maneuvers, and explained how the horses are trained and how they live in the school. Very informative and engaging anecdotes, and it was really interesting to see the horses "behind-the-scenes" - well worth the visit. Thank you for the tour!

To watch horses being trained and ridden like this is memorable. It was a lifetime wish for my wife to see this, and it was well worth the trouble to book and watch. The partnering with the horse looks effortless, which speaks volumes of the work done, effort made, and empathy of rider and horse. Actually we got lucky. We booked late, had an OK seat, but the school had double booked us, and we had thge places of a larger party, so we got moved to a great seat, with a free gratis translator for each of us which was a bonus.

This is one of the things that makes a good holiday great, and gives a memory that will be shared often between us, those 'do you remember' moments.

Through no fault of our own, we were unable to visit as a result of the pandemic - cancelled ferry etc. Asked nicely twice, but they refuse to give a refund. Money taken last January for nothing. Disappointed (on many counts).
Unempathetic.

Dear TripAdvisor Custumer, We are deeply sorry about the incovenience. As a matter of fact, the rules of public accouting forbide us to refund performance that happened. In this type of senario, it is only possible to pospone your tickets for 2020 or even 2021 ; which will allow you to come back later or even resale your tickets if you cannot attend a performance. Once again we are sorry. Kind regards

This is a unique school for horses and riders, where the animal is as much an athlete as the human being. Excellent!

The tour was in French as there are no English tours but we were given a leaflet with all the information on. It was lovely to see a demonstration in the main arena, which we were unsure if we would. We then got to look around the stables and stroke some of the horses. I would recommend it.

I enjoyed it despite the fact that the tour was conducted in French. There were no English speaking tours the day I was there. I’d recommend it to anyone with interest in horses and history.

On the hottest day of the year we were doubtful about this attraction, We needn't have worried, the arena is air conditioned so the magnificent horses are quite comfortable., That means that we were OK too. Not being French speakers we were struggling to understand the commentary but wer understood enough to appreciate the superb display of warlike skills, The grace and power of the horses and the assured riders presented a smooth, stunning demonstration of world class excellence.

Visited as family of five - 2 adults and 3 teenagers, 15, 15 and 14.

Despite only one of us being “horsey” the whole family enjoyed this visit.

I would recommend booking onto an English tour - I emailed in advance and was emailed back almost immediately with all the info we required. There was only our family and two other adults booked into our tour, despite it being mid-August, so we had a semi private tour.

Our guide spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable- she obviously loved her job. The tour was great - it is only an hour long but for the non-horsey amongst us that was probably just right.

Would highly recommend this.
