Just follow the green line and you'll see the best of Nantes, architecture, museums, castle, parks, cathedral, audivisual art work, etc. The booklet is very handy and gives brief background info. Walk of take a bike (for hire everywhere!) because Nantes is a very cycle friendly city.

One can follow the green line through the city and see many interesting artworks (and some, not so interesting) - certainly worth finding some time to do this interesting walk.

Even though they were performing maintenance on the elephant, we got to see it up close and personal. Many of the other mechanicals birds, animals were working though. We wish we could have see the dragon in operation especially blowing fire. It was amazing to go in and see these machines up close and personal.

It's a great experience every year. Le Voyage a Nantes takes you in the most important places to see in the city. You just have to follow the green line on the ground and this line will take you for a nice journey to remember. It's better to go to the tourist office to have more information about it. You... It was a marvellous surprise to come across this elephant. You can ride on it (but you need to buy a ticket for that). We contented ourselves with just watching it moving up and down the former quai. The technology and mechanisms were a sight to behold. If you have seen "War Horse" before, you'll know what I'm talking about.... More

Excellent ride on the mechanical walking elephant. It is great to watch and take pictures and also great to ride on. 8.50€ per adult. Elephant roars and the trunk spurts out water from time to time. Travels at a very slow speed and ride lasts 30 mins. You are very high up or there is plenty of space inside. All... More

This is amazing to watch and get close to and see how it all works together. I did not go on the elephant (as a ride). It is not fast by any means, and I can't see it being very exciting beyond the first couple of minutes. But it was very popular and a lot of people can fit on... More
