The unusual building, hidden behind a nondescript entrance, is a surprise in itself. The biology and prehistory departments are not particularly impressive, but the room with fossils is. The museum gets the most out of its space, with little means. Extremely sympa! One of the highlights is a playful diorama of primates, featuring a Darwin reading skeleton. As a graphic designer, I would redesign all information signs in order to have them a bit more integrated in the building and its decor, they now look cheap, too bright and break the atmosphere of the displays.

Open to the public since 1801. Dedicated to natural history, the Museum of Angers, houses in its collections naturalized birds, shells, fossils, insects and collections of preserved plant specimens, as well as hundreds naturalized or liquid specimens, skeletons, minerals, technical instruments and documents. The museum offers two sections: zoology and paleontology in two buildings connected to each other by a pleasant little garden. Although too small, for only 4 euros, worth a visit.

This is quite a small natural history museum. Nevertheless, there were a few interesting collections: insects, butterflies, a few prehistoric skeletons etc. However, if you have an interest in fossils, there is a fairly extensive collection.
