I always make a point of taking time to see Botanical gardens when I travel. Terra Botanica not disappoint. The gardens were clean and well kept with many interesting areas (potager/water gardens/tropical/Japon etc) with gentle, scenic train and boat rides. The boat ride gave you an interesting history (in several languages) of the Loire Valley bargemen and their lives, incorporating the wine trade which tied in well with our later visit to a local vineyard. A great place for adults interested in flora and fauna but also something for the children with play areas, high rope walks in the woods and amber mining activities. So, this place is great for families and to teach children about plants in a fun way. I particularly liked the potager. The displays and shop were well presented and all staff polite and very helpful. There were several well located picnic areas. I would thoroughly recommend this for adults and families for a whole day out.

Overall this place is good value for money. We spent most of the day there and our children who are 7 & 9 enjoyed themselves. There is no translation so if your French is not great, it might be worth giving some of the shows a miss but the 4D Jurassic adventure was the best one - no translation needed! The children loved the butterfly enclosure and looking for frogs amongst all the lily pads. I thought the origins section could have been improved upon with some more actual dinosaurs or other things for the kids to spot amongst the plants rather than just sound effects and the rose garden was a little disappointing, but apart from that, for the money I can’t complain about what was overall a lovely day out.

Super day out. Highly recommend for kids to have fun ( lots for them to do and play) and for beautifully maintained varied gardens. I loved the vegetable gardens. We loved the 4D, Walnut shell ride in tree tops, the 2 guys who did beat box. We were there for over 4 hours. If the rain had not come, we would have stayed longer.

4 adults and 2 children under 7, we all had a fantastic day. The park is beautiful and packed with flowers. There is tonnes for the children to engage and play with, they could have stayed for hours longer. A beautiful park and happy children meant it was a lovely day out for the adults too. The staff we encountered were all very friendly and helpful, and keen to speak with children in English when French was a struggle.
Highly highly recommend a day out here. We hope to be back for a third visit next year.

This is just an amazing park! It’s clean, kids loved it and it’s really beautiful. The flowers and the plants are really amazing! It’s really nicely maintained and rides and restaurants are well good. Staff was also really friendly and had a good sense of humour. I would love to go back again.

Hot air balloon not working....too hot!
Boat ride not working..... not enough water!
Would have liked to have been told BEFORE we'd paid the entrance fee.
Feel a little ripped off.

This is a relatively new attraction and the plants are still maturing. The website is good and has an English language option, but it cannot do justice to the reality of the experience. This is a good day out for all ages. The car park appeared to be quite small and the actual entrance is a short level walk away. We were in party and had to wait for our assigned 'Greeter'. It was only 10 a.m. at the end of May, but it was already very warm so the trees planted in the waiting area were welcome. As were the loos being accessible before you got through the turnstiles. Facilities for wheelchair users seemed to work well and most of the park is accessible.

Staff speak very little English, but all the notices have translations underneath. This includes the informative and very decorative panels along the walks. There are plenty of places to sit and lots of water features, including a charming ride through the roses by boat. The park is divided into four areas and there are some excellent things for children. Loos were good and clearly marked. There were plenty of witty and amusing ideas in each section and at the end a lot of information had been taken in quite painlessly. Don't miss the giant spider, or the amazing shipwreck.

Once in the park, the only additional costs would be for food or souvenirs. The food is adequate and not too badly priced and there are pic-nic areas if you prefer to bring your own. As for souvenirs - they are lovely to look at but quite expensive. However, determined hunting does pay dividends and yet again there is somewhere to sit down.

A wonderful day out.

Not a big place but is worth visiting. Great for resting and relaxation. There are public toilets there and plenty of benches to sit.

The place is pretty, but nothing out of the extraordinary and yet very expensive... I went for an special event and I didn't paid my ticket, otherwise I wouldn't have gone just for the price and I even if I would have I would have been deceived...

Hi Patricia-Oax, Thanks for this review. We are sorry that you have not enjoyed our 40 games, activities and attractions or our 500,000 species of plants. Regarding our entrance fees, with the many activities offered, the various services available and a full day of visiting, you will not find any other park in France with a lower price. We also have discounted tickets on our website if you book the day before you visit (16€ per adult and 13€ per child). We wish you a nice day. Best regards, Terra Botanica’s team
