This cathedral oozes charm and history. Presently under going much required maintenance, to restore this amazing place. Even with the work being performed the cathedral remains open.

Rouen cathedral is magnificent. This is where Joan of Arc was tried and convicted. She is then burned at the stake in the market square. Ironically, she is later mentioned here as not being a heretic or witch but she was already dead.

The sheer size and profile of the cathedral is overwhelming, and when you get up close the intricate details and gorgeous architecture are just magnificent. We stayed in a lovely little hotel just across the street and had a lovely view. Lovely and well worth a visit - old town Rouen is fun to stroll through, also. And, take a... More

The cathedral of Rouen is one of the first Gothic churches to have been erected in Europe. The interior of the building is just or perhaps more impressive than the outside. Nice to know Rollo duke of Normandy is buried here. In the Vikings series he plays the brother of Ragnar Lothbrok.

What a gem. A truly stunning piece of architecture. I have to agree with a previous review in that in some ways it's more impressive than Paris's Notre Dame. It's the best cathedral I've seen since the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. I was a bit disappointed that they don't seem to offer tours of the towers.

I used to live in Rouen for several years, and so I used to stroll around the Cathedrale a lot. It is a wonder every time, you spot new details, new parts...each time! It has been under repair for a while, most of it is now done, giving an even better sight.

Beautifully restored and maintained, stunning work of art. It looks like lace in stone. In a pedestrian neighbourhood so you can really take time to visit it

I found this cathedrale to be so much more beautiful than the Notre Dame in Paris, which was nice, but nothing compared to this one. Bring a pair of binoculars and admire the magnificent architecture.

Spectacularly beautiful cathedral. I must have taken a zillion photos of its exterior. Highly recommend going to the lights show in the evening. It is well worth it and a highlight of my visit to the city.
