The Cathedral itself is beautiful inside and has a fascinating history of being built and burnt down and built and broken down and built again and again but the cherry on the top is the amazing show which starts at 11pm at night. One stands outside the cathedral - there is plenty of space for a large crowd to gather... More

This is a must see. Its huge and gorgeous. The detailed rock carvings are extraordinary. We got the audioguide at the info. center across from the cathedral for a walking tour of the city and details on this cathedral. Highly recommend this. Most of all, GO BACK AT 11 PM FOR THE LIGHT SHOW which goes on all summer.

We were all impressed by the gothic stone masonry. Notice the staircase to the 'Bibliotheca' Although the Cathedral is one of Rouens' main attractions, I'd like to add that this is not the only VERY impressive religious house in the city. Well worth the visit when in Rouen.

The cathedral during the summer months has a spectacular light show starting at 11 pm. There are two stories, one on the impressionist painters (2016 is the festival pf impressionists all over Normandy), and the other story is on the Nordic invasion . Light and music bonanza with the carvings on the cathedral surface providing the texture for an unusual... More

Starting at 11 pm, this was one of the best light-shows I have ever seen. I would go back tomorrow, if I could. Don't miss it! (Just passing through Rouen, we were not there during the day, so I cannot comment on the cathedral interior.)

Enjoyed a visit inside this cathedral. There was a man standing at the door with a basket for donations, but one did not have to donate to enter.

Looking at the Cathedral it is old and unspoilt and you can still get the beauty of it. That's until you turn round and see buildings spoilt by modern shop fronts and signs. We did not go in as there were what looked like beggars with bowls opening the door when anybody went in. I they were beggars they looked... More

Absolutely spectacular. Try and catch the summer son et lumiere show, July and August every night at 11pm. Just brilliant.

This Cathedral is impressive! If you're in Rouen during the day and have the possibility to stay by night also, you have to see it! Plus, during summer, there are animated projections on it, changing every year.
