A modern masterpiece

The church is certainly different but as a modern building it is stunning. The entrance is difficult to find behind the covered market.

This church is very modern in contrast to the remainder of the city. If you are in Rouen this is a must visit.

France has tons of religious sites to see, however this isn't one. In Rouen there is a very historic cathedral to see but this church could be missed without regret. The monument to St. Joan of Arc is the only reason to seek this out.

Entering this church emits a "Wow" moment as you enter at the top of the stair case opposite a wall of stained glass. Very peaceful once the heavy door is closed. We sat here for a good half hour just drinking it all in.

The architecture resembled an overturned ship. The stained glasses are beautiful. The church is quite modern in my opinion. The small garden by the church is also a beautiful place to visit.

It's in your face modern - cast concrete, planked wooden ceiling, nice stained glass (not sure if they are new or re-cycled) - not the reverent atmosphere of a proper Church or Cathedral but accessible and different - just don't expect to see something that makes you feel all Godly

The church is built on the site where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. It is a very modern building with absolutely stunning stained glass windows. Really beautiful and free to visit.

This was a surpise! The outside had a 'fantastic' atmosphere and, although modern, it really adds to the old square. The foundation of the bombed church is still there. Very considered, as we tend to build right over the remains. The inside!! The roof is supported by an amazing structure. Looks like an old E.I.C. merchant ship. The back of... More

Spent about 2 hours in Rouen. The church is open to the public and is free. There was a church service in progress when we looked in, but we could still walk into a 'foyer' that was all glass and could see in the church. The architecture is the most interesting part. After seeing all the cathedrals, castles, and chateaus,... More

Squeezed into the available space where Joan of Arc was executed, the Church of Joan of Arc in its modern style architect was built in it place. The whole structure of the church must look good in isolated model. However when it was built into relatively tight space, some of the key design of the architect were losses in its... More
