While we were visiting, there was an excellent exhibit of Impressionist art. It focused on portraits of the artists and family members, featuring discussions of their lives and loves. Very interesting!

We visited this museum with the specific intention of seeing the Impressionist exhibits /paintings. There were a few rooms with Impressionists, but the majority were portraits, and 1 small room labeled 'society '. We walked through the other exhibits but felt marginally satisfied, given its high admission fee. I can't recommend or discourage.

I love the old medieval towns and this is why I went to Rouen. We went on a holiday (we didn't know at the time) and it was like we had the whole town to ourselves to discover. Gros-Horloge is a gem in the city.

We wondered into the left-hand side of the gallery which has a beautiful courtyard with statues and vast canvasses, lovely place to take tea...this is where the entrance to the special exhibition is BUT... If you turn left at the entrance there are many rooms with facinating, varied pieces to see - including more impressionist work that didn't go into... More

My family and I did the Impressionism in Normandy tour in June. This museum is only a little over an hour from Paris by train, no lines and incredible artwork! a must see especially if you enjoy impressionism!

We really enjoyed the renaissance exhibition at the Museum. Probably the best collection of renaissance artists that we have seen with many well known classics. There are multi-language hand held guides for €4 to help navigate the exhibition. Helpful staff.

We came to Rouen especially for this exhibition which focuses heavily on impresdionist portraits so don't be disappointed that there are no landscapes. The xhibition is well organizd and annoted. If you do not understand French sufficiently by all means get yourself an audio guide (English only). It is well worth the 4 Euros you'll have to pay. We were... More

I was excited about the impressionist painting exhibition as it advertises as the 2nd best in France but was disappointed by the exhibits. The permanent paintings are nice but don't have the wow factor. The temporary portrait exhibition I had seen in February in Rome so that for me was good but.... I love impressionist painting and wouldn't miss it... More

During our stay at Rouen we visited the museum in which we were fascinated from the Monet paintings. We found to know that 2016 is the year of the Impresionists all over Normandy, until September. We enjoyed the visit very much.
