All reviews impressionist collection impressionist works provincial museum great collection fine art french art couple of hours two floors ticket desk art lovers admission fee lovely building small museum on display well worth a visit sisley artists
Admission is free to this awesome museum which holds lots of art and even few pieces of Monet. I was surprised how little security was there.
Must see when in Rouen
What really struck me was the large number of great master’s works, and the modest security. There was one or two guards on the entire upper floor, where Monets, Sisleys, and many others reside. Temperature controlled, but who’s guarding the masterworks? Odd finding. Fairly quick...More
Thought this lived up to its reputation as the best art collection outside Paris. The Impressionist collection is particularly impressive. Not crowded which makes it a particular pleasure to visit. The local impressionist collection is strong and there are some good examples by the lead...More
The collection of impressionists' art works in this museum is so amazing. Thanksfully, it was not crowded and we could view the masterpieces easily. This is a "do not miss" especially for art lovers.
An amazing art gallery - far larger than we expected. Not all of the paintings on display were to our taste, but that is to be expected. We loved the impressionists, particularly Monet.
Spectacular building with pleasant and helpful staff. It is free to visit the non-exhibition areas but you need to get a ticket from the ticket desk on the right as you enter. Lots of darker older style art but only one or two modern pieces...More
I was referred to this museum by the Tourism Office and wasn't disappointed. The entrance is free except for the Marcel Duchamp Exhibition. Little did I know that Monet's major works are here and so are other Impressionists. I was happy to see Delacroix's works...More
The museum is probably best know for its impressionist especially Monet, but use the time to look at other parts of the museum. What really caught my eye was "Democritus" by Diego Velázquez. A painting full of humour and warmth.
I walked in winter was for free, summer I think with money I don’t think you need to book ahead it’s not so busy usually
Fees no clue but shouldnt be a lot

I don't believe they have this painting in Rouen. There are only two Monet's (that I remember) both images of Notre Dame and they are both later works. I don't remember seeing this specific painting while I was there. I hope that helps!
