We stayed in a gite or apartment while in Rouen for three weeks, and one of the best things about it was its location on Rue Eau de Robec. One of the city's quirkiest unusual small museums (in a city full of great small museums) is right there, the National Education Museum. But what Rue Eau de Robec is best... More

Along with the traditional houses there is a small stream that runs along the pavement. It makes a change in the regular street profile. The streem is covered at some places to give easy excess to the shops behind or by a entire patio for a restaurant. It reminded me of the 'Bagles' in Freiburg.

Lots and lots of historic half timbered houses in this area standing in small narrow streets. Imagine that this is what it was like 500 years ago! There are several small shops and cafes to stop in.

This is a pretty little street with a small stream. It is worth a stroll to see the half timbered facades which Rouen is known for.

We passed here as part of a tour and stroll afterwards. Not much to see, unless the shops are open which was the case today.

This is the water street.because there is a very shallow canal that runs the length of the street. I really was not overly impressed with this street. I was actually a bit disappointed given previous reviews and photos of the area. There are some restaurants along the way. The canal looked filthy and filled with algae. I did like the... More

Water Street it was on our visit, it never stopped raining for the entire day. It is a quaint street, with several restaurants almost all of which were closed on our first night and none of which were open on our 2nd night. Disappointing.
