A very small museum in a former (and very ancient) church, which outlines many nautical themes so much associated with the town and offering a range of artefacts reflecting the history of Honfleur as a major seaport, ship building and fishing centre.
It doesn't take much time to go round, but it is worth visiting , especially if you combine the ticket with one for the local town musuem nearby.

We spent a day in Honfleur recently and started with this museum on a Monday. When I asked the lady if I could buy a multi museum ticket, she said yes I could buy either a two museum ticket or a four museum ticket (the others being the Ethnographic, Satie and Boudin museums). She then told me that the Satie and Boudin museums were closed which I knew not to be the case.
We bought a ticket for the first two, neighbouring museums and started with the Ethnography one next door. When we returned she very apologetically admitted that the other two museums were indeed open!
The Marine museum is located in the oldest church in town - it had be desonsecrated. As such it was very small and only really of interest to people with maritime leanings. On its own it is also quite expensive and not worth it. Only go there if you are planning to visit the other ones as well.

We believe the price is high for such a small museum with almost no real story. Bu when you combine with Musee Etnographie great.

Interesting, but small and only worth it if you by the combined museum ticket (recommend) so you can see all the city museums for one price.

It doesn't take long to go around this museum and take in its artefacts. If you like things antique, it's a neat, inexpensive and brief (20 minutes say) museum. They do a deal on price with Manoir d'Ethnographie which is also worth a visit and is just around the corner.

This museum covers a remarkable span of history. It reveals the very important role played by King Henry VI in its development, and how it came to be associated with the
creation of French-speaking Canada. The models of ships are of varying quality.

Not a lot in here, but what their is, is quite interesting as is the building itself.A joint ticket with the museum next door is less than 5 pounds, so both worth seeing, allow approx 45 minutes for visits to both.

Sat in the porch and admired the graffiti scratched into the sandstone, but it was too nice a day and I felt too mean to splash out the €4.20 or whatever on the entrance fee, so I spent it on a beer instead.

Musee of 19 ieme siècle vessel models primarily. Wonderful old church with not much of value to view inside other than a decommissioned church.. In a historical maritime location such as this I expected very much more. Plan on about a ten minute visit.

After going on a guided Walking Tour of Honfleur this morning my wife and myself retraced our steps this afternoon to visit both the Musee de Vieux Honfleur (see separate Review) and the Musee due last Marine - which are conveniently less than 50 yards apart.
Both Museums are not large - and take less than 30 minutes to visit - but there are some very interesting artefacts on show. Indeed - between them - they help to put Honfleur’s history into perspective.
