In Honfleur, tourists can buy a lot and spend a lot of money. You often get the feeling that they are tourist traps.
Not here. We came into the small shop looking for a Calvados. The sales area is a single room, with shelves full of Calvados and cider on the walls. In the middle is an old wooden barrel and in the corner is the cash register. That's it.
The owner is incredibly friendly and competent. We were asked directly what we were actually drinking and what we didn't like at all. We were then given the first Calvados to try. Based on our answer, the second and then the third. The owner knows her craft and after a short explanation of how Calvados matures and how we should drink it, we decided to go for the second sample. When we paid, we were also briefly informed about the manufacturer of the Calvados. You could tell at every second that the owner understands and loves her job.
In addition to her native language, she also speaks perfect English, which made communication much easier.

Well hidden, in a small street in Honfleur, this store selling Norman products offers a magnificent choice of ciders, perries, Calvados, whiskey, etc. The owner is delighted to share his knowledge of the products, sold at very affordable prices. The quantity and variety of products is such that several visits are necessary if you are interested in Norman gastronomy.

Great choice and great help in finding the right Calvados! I found a 15 year old Calvados that I treasure and everytime I have a bit I remember this shop!

The perfect shop to experience a taste of what is local. Service was warm, friendly and very accommodating. In addition to our lovely purchases we were provided with additional recommendations as to where we could find what we were looking for.

This shop is offers a variety of local products to drink and eat. Unlikely many places to sample the products to sell so near the tourist centre, it is run by people who are really knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They don't just try to sell you the most expensive stuff but listen to what you are interested in, what most fits your taste and your price range. The prices seemed quite okay as well because a few other shops that didn't offer sampling wanted more money for the same products in the area.

Saw this on trip advisor before we sailed on a cruise taking in France. Lovely shop, extremely knowledgeable owner. Samples are readily available with no obligation to buy. Bought a bottle of 8 year old calvados, now sitting down to sample it. DELICIOUS

Calvados...the older it is the better it gets....well that's what the proprietor said and he should know as he said he works from 10am to 10pm every day for 9 months. Despite being in the morning, we sampled several Calvados's and I was really tempted to go for the 1964 vintage, being the year of our births, but the price tag was a little too much to justify, so in the end, we settled for a much younger bottle which is going down very well.

If you are looking for cider or calvados definitely go here. The owner was helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to. No matter what your tastes or budgets there is something there for you. First class service we will return. In addition I learnt a lot! Thank you.

The owner is really friendly and welcoming. He explained everything aboute Cidre, Calvados and so on. The prices are more than fair and the quality is excelent. Comparing to other surrounding shop, this one is a real gem.
