Worth the climb
Mar 2020
We climbed slowly up from the town and enjoyed the views along the way. The church and the bells are lovely. Historic and meaningful. The views and flowers are lovely. Recommend this outing.

If you are fit and keen, go for it

The chapel is at the top of a steepish hill not far from the centre of town. It is worth the climb for the view over the Seine and for the chapel itself. I believe that the Petit Train might visit here but the tourist season was over and it wasn't running.

The chapel itself is quite unusual in design - small and intimate in design with nice stained glass windows with a maritime theme running through it - sailors would come here to be blessed and ask for safety before setting off on a long voyage.

Do try to get there at the top of the hours as the rack of bells outside plays part of Bizet's L'Arlesienne before chiming the hour.

Make sure you are up to a longish climb before setting ou up the hill

Nice spot.

Visit on the hour if you want to enjoy the bells outside. Try not to photo bomb any wedding photos, there was a party there using this rather lovely spot to record their happy day. Great views across the Seine to Le Havre.

beautiful view and charming church. A tribute to the boats that sailed from Honfleur...the climb is long

rather a chapel than a church, with painted ex voto's
Jul 2019 • Solo
The original chapel was supposedly build by one of the early Norman dukes, but was lost when the rock is stood on collapsed. It was however rebuild, a bit further inland. A pleasant church from the outside, also worth exploring inside. Of note are the many ex voto paintings, as thanks for surviving a storm at sea (they are pretty high up).

Peaceful beautiful church with great views

Peaceful beautiful church, church on this site since 1089, with great views Over the Seine. Bracing walk, steep hill, or I see their is a ‘golf cart’ type train on holidays and weekends. Peaceful church with a maritime history, set of bells outside that chime every 15 minutes.
Interesting that a man came to tune organ whilst we were there....

Worth the walk
May 2019 • Family
A 10-15 minute walk up town to a peaceful little church with a link to the Sea (ship models and pictures all around the interior). Nice views and a short loop walk to the viewing hill overlooking the city.

Tiny but beautiful church
May 2019 • Couples
This is well worth the walk up the steep hill to visit. It is much more tranquil than the main church in the town. Very pretty and amazing views over the estuary. Do make the walk, you won't be disappointed.

Charming chapel. Extraordinary views.

I visited the chapel as part of "Le petit train touristique" so didn't have as long as I would have liked. However it is charming, with a very interesting external belltower.
