We arrived at 20:00hrs and the inside was quite full. there is ample outside dining under awning and wind breaks, but we as all the other diners chose to eat inside as the weather was not too great.
The menu was varied, although in the Medium price range around 20-25 Euro for a main course. the was also a Formule for 35 Euro.
The food arrived in good time and was served well. we spent quite an enjoyable evening here with no pressure to hurry the meal.

Just in front of the old port stays that very interesting building dates back to the 15th century. This big house was built for the king's representatives and served also to guard the port. Impressive historical structure.

Walking around Le Vieux Bassin we came to a very prominant old building Lieutenance d'Honfleur that carried a large plaque honouring Samuel de Champlain who sailed from here to explore the New World in 1603.

This is of 1700's construction and there used to be a sea-chain across the small entry to the harbor. The short, black columns on either side of the water once were threaded with chains that could be tightened up to block ships from entering. One of those black turnstiles is near the carousel and the other is in front of the ruins of the old lieutenant's residence. It does not appear this gate fortification and residence are open for tours.
Whenever history is preserved, that is worthy of recognition and appreciation.

You can't go in. There's nothing but a little plaque on the out side. This is not a tourist attraction of any sort.

Honfleur is such a beautiful town with so much to see and do. I'm so looking forward to taking three coachloads of our choir, Ashford Sings! to visit in April next year. We hope to sing in front of this building on 12th April and then we'll return on the 14th for a boat trip.
So many gorgeous restaurants around the harbour to suit all tastes and pockets.

Quite an amazing building at the entrance to the boat basin. This is where Samuel de Champlain sailed from in 1603. In all he made 10 trips from here. The structure is interesting, but you cannot go inside. This could be developed as a more significant tourist attraction. The historic significance is quite remarkable.

We walked by this odd-looking stone building that stands at one end of the Honfleur harbor. It was named for the 17th century King’s Lieutenant who used this building as place of residence. It was also used to control the entrance into the medieval fortress of Honfleur. No entrance to the inside. If our local guide had not pointed it out, we would have walked right pass it.

Odd shaped building at the end of the old dock. It is the only remnant left from the ancient rampart from the 16th and the 17th centuries. Check out the fortified "Caen Gate" which used to control the entrance into the medieval fortress of Honfleur.

it looks quite queer, this building controlling the entrance to the old harbour bassin of Honfleur, built in whatsoever style... funny, but nice.

Does this cost? I have to do a project which I am pretending I am traveling to France and I need to know the cost of all tourism, food and this does not have a cost.
