Nicely landscaped formal garden
Jun 2019 • Couples
Surprising and restful formal garden located behind the cathedral or church. A side of the garden has been transformed into a children’s playground.the park was nicely landscaped and maintained, which provided a nice spot to pause during a walk of Lisieux. The cathedral nearby is undergoing massive repairs. On the other side of the cathedral there’s another paved square with several nearby places for food, from bakery, to gyro, to nice sit-down options.

Lovely little formal garden
Aug 2017 • Couples
Tucked in behind the St-Pierre Cathedral it would be easy to miss this, the Bishop's Garden, if you weren't looking for it. It's beautifully laid out and the day we were there the flowers were in full bloom. No doubt at other times of the year the plantings may not be as lush but still worth a few minutes. No doubt it would be a great place to eat your lunch baguette. So if you're having a look at the old cathedral, or even if you're not, try and spare a few minutes for this little jewel.

Unexpectedly beautiful

Lisieux is something of a backwater and we never expected to see such a beautiful and tastefully planted garden. Lovely.

Beautiful gardens in the centre of Lisieux. Worth a visit as it is a stroll from the cathedral square.

Interesting, well kept and surprising

The park is next to the cathedral, behind the courthouse. It's rather big for this kind of park, with several statues and even a pond.

The park is well kept, clean and interesting for a quick visit.

Place of beauty

When walking around Lisieux you should stop here for a nice picnic or just to see the fountain. It is next to the cathedral and a welcome rest.

Surprising

Approached from the main square you would not know it exists. However standing on the terrace the formal gardens are a joy to behold. I liked the statues and was moved by the war memorial.

Nice open space in the city.

Nice place for a Picnic in the city - not too far from little sandwich shops and the Cathedral. Pretty fountains, statues and a great big playground for kids who are bored of being quiet in Cathedrals!

Wow this has to be the best public garden space I have ever seen
Aug 2015 • Family
We stumbled across this fantastic public garden with is splendid water feature, band stand, children's play area, statues and the most beautiful flora and fauna. There were even plenty of benches in the dappled shade of the tree avenue to sit and admire the garden from.
