Always a moving visit to Les Buissonnets, St Therese of Lisieux’s in Normandy home where she has found peace
Oct 2019 • Friends
If you are a devotee of St Thérèse or want to experience her story (Story of A Soul) of her childhood memories, a visit to Les Buissonnets will bring them to life. I’ve been here several times and each time I savor the life and teachings of Thérèse. It helps to read her manuscript before going for a greater appreciation. Nearby visit the Carmel on rue du Carmel and see her relics, Chapel where she served and place where she spent her last 9 years until age 24. The Basilica of St Thérèse and St Pierre Cathedral are also amazing places to experience the saints lives including hers and her father St Louis as well as her sisters

Interesting look back in history.

The gardens are well maintained and the rooms are 'preserved' in time. There is an audio commentary in various languages as one walks around the former home of St Therese.

Visit to Les buissonetts
Aug 2018 • Family
Lovely little house where sainte Terese grew up. Staffed by volunteers and free to enter. Made to feel very welcome, short wait so groups could be accommodated correct language guide played. Kids loved meeting the rabbit, Augusto in the garden 😄. Visit the tourist office first and get a map to help you follow the blue line. Whole walk takes around 2hours and something for everyone xx

BEAUTIFUL house

I went to Lisieux and in the tourist office they gave me great information, they gave me a map and told me follow the blue line all over town to see the major places in St. Therese of Lisieux's life, I went to the Basilica, the Carmel, the Buissonets (family house where she grew up), St. Pierre cathedral and downtown.
You do NOT need a cab or bus I walked everywhere since everything is close by, if you are old and in bad shape then you might. There is no admission fee to the Buissonets and the volunteers are phenomenal, super nice and helpful, they have an audio and they will play it in your language, well worth to see everything there. After you finish go to downtown and have something nice to eat and try the Normandy apple cider.

i loved St. Therese childhood house ...i felt like she was still living there ...the nuns are very welcoming ..and all the furniture of the house is still kept safe..the garden is very beautiful especially the statue of st therese and her father in the middle...the best way to go there is to take a stroll from the cathedral to the buissonnets and admire everything along the way

Childhood Home of St Theresa
May 2017 • Friends
The home of St. Theresa is nicely maintained with many original furnishings. We really appreciated the tour and opportunity to view her family life. The nuns were so helpful and nice. Many nice items were available in the gift shop. And do take time to enjoy the beautiful garden areas too.

Not much to it, but it's moving, brilliant, and free!

A must for pilgrims and at least very interesting for regular tourists. There's not much to the place. You're basically done in 30 minutes, but it's a really lovely place, and a must if you're on a St. Therese pilgrimage.
