What a amazing tribute to the men that gave their lives defending freedom. This museum is PERFECT a great place to learn about such an important piece of world history.

This museum is located in the castle of Caen in the center, near rue Vaugueux, where you can find plenty restaurants. There are actually several different places to visit, an exhibition centre, an outdoor park for children. Our children enjoyed the fact to be in a castle, they loved the park with the slides and climbing stuffs, they escalated the... More

One cannot fathom the effort by the "kids" that landed here. The museum and surround historical sites are truly breath taking,,,,,,,,,I could go on, but you have to walk it yourself........

Here you'll learn about chapters of history of the 20th century, from pre-WWII to the Cold War - puts it all in perspective, with a Frrench twist on things. Very interesting and informative. Nice WWII section adds to that of the main Caen museum. Worth a visit. Enjoy...

Beautifully presented local history museum. Starting back in the early bronze age with exhibits of ancient coins, the museum moves through the ages. The museum how industry and life in Normandy changed over the ages, and has loads of interesting exhibits. There's great explanations everywhere, but only in French. Very affordable entry fee at €5.50

What a great museum, it has loads of info on local history, culture and farming. Its a great way to spend a morning just wandering around.

As is recommend as one of the interest points to visit in Normandy, my family and me visited this museum on a shining day. The museums displays historical local objects, including those of the Battle in Normandy in 1944. There was also documentary in French with English subtitle or vice versa (depending on the time of showing) at the end... More
