Sylvan was a great guide and his knowledge of WWII and the area was amazing! Very friendly and passionate about the beaches of Normandy. We had a group of 6 with my wife, parents, as well as my two children 12 and 10. He made the tour interesting for the adults (my dad is a history buff) as well as kept it light enough for the kids. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a guide!

Our family of four, including two teens spent a full day with Sylvain touring DDay sites. I'll reiterate what all the reviews below say. Sylvain is professional with a warm personality, has a wealth of knowledge to share, and provided us with a very meaningful experience. We enjoyed our day with him and much to our delight we ran into him the following day when visiting Utah Beach on our own! Our tour with Sylvain was one the best experiences of our two week trip to England and France.

Sylvain picked us up in his van during March. He drove us to multiple sites. We did the US viewing and loved every minute. He was supper informative with maps and history. I had 4 kids (ages 15 and 20) that love it and learned so much from the day at Utah, Omaha, and Sainte-Mère-Église. The tour was on my bucket list and it didn't disappoint. I would highly recommend Sylvain for your tour. He even dropped us off at the train station after the tour was over. He was early to pick us up from the hotel. For US tours, stay in Bayeaux the night before and you could leave on the 630 pm train. He only stakes cash so be prepared. US people are limited to how much you can take out of the ATM. Deposits are done with paypal

We spent a day with Sylvain Kast and were transported back in time for an amazing experience. Sylvain is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and its history. He also has a wonderful personality and story-telling ability. He brought the area to life for us and managed to keep the attention of my 17 year old niece for the entire day—no small feat! Sylvain goes above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction and even arranged a table for lunch for us all at a lovely restaurant. His attention to detail and warm personality made us instantly comfortable with him. We truly had an unforgettable and special day. We would wholeheartedly recommend Sylvain as a tour guide and hope to see him again for a longer tour in the future!

Sylvain Kast was an excellent guide for my wife, adult daughter and me on an all-day tour of the Normandy battlefield in April 2019. Sylvain picked us up in his van, which was clean and comfortable. After a very informative visit to the German Cemetery, we went to Pointe du Hoc where Sylvain explained in detail what happened there in the first hours and days of the battle. We then walked along Omaha Beach, with Sylvain pointing out which American and German units were where, what weapons each had, and where the Americans broke through. After a very pleasant lunch arranged by Sylvain, we continued to tour the Beach, entered German gun placements, and saw the artificial harbor at Arromanches. We then visited the American Cemetery, which is truly indescribable. Sylvain told us the stories of numerous individual soldiers buried there. As we drove back to Bayeux, Sylvain showed us hedgerows like the ones encountered by the Allies as they moved inland. We cannot imagine anyone nicer or with more detailed knowledge than Sylvain, and we highly recommend him. As a US Army veteran, I especially appreciated the deep respect he had for those who fought and died there.
