We've been to see the Cathedral in November. What fasinated me was how the mosaic windows playing their part in lighting up the walls: it looks like amazing.

This is one of the best cathedrals I have looked around in France - on a par with Notredame in Paris. It is well preserved, in great condition and in a fantastic setting in the centre of Bayeux. Well worth a visit.

The highlight of Bayeux and well worth a visit. Parking is available on the street for a small fee. Stop and enjoy numerous shops and cafes on the surrounding streets.

The cathedral dominates the skyline of Bayeux and is the center point of a visit into town. Make sure you allow time for a visit inside - beautiful stained glass glows in the afternoon light.

This beautiful cathedral is most impressive. It was built over a thousand years ago and is just magnificent as it stands out above Bayeux. Surprisingly is was almost completely spared during WWII. Well worth the visit.

You can’t miss this cathedral as you drive into Bayeux, as it dominates the landscape of the small town— but make sure you take the time to go inside. I enjoyed it more than Notre Dame in Paris. Incredible look at church history and architecture...More

Bayeux is an easy day trip or an over night from Paris. The cathedral is inspiring even more so when lit up at night. The Normandy Beaches are awe inspiring and realy make you appreciate what the youth of the 40's did. I have the...More

Very moving and beautiful. The entire church and its stain glass windows are impressive. The chapel for peace and the memorials for the brave veterans of WWI and WWII evoke strong emotions.

The cathedral Notre Dame of Bayeux was dedicated with William the Conquer in attendance. The current building has many gothic and later additions. It is well worth seeing. It’s in Bayeux.

paris in 2 days...questions! (7 Replies)
Hi, my wife and I are travelling to Paris on 20th Aug for 2 days. I have some questions I hope you can help me with. I am planning on booking the Duminy Velodome Hotel. The reviews seem good and its reasonably priced and central to the areas we plan to visit. Anyone have any thoughts on this hotel? As we only have two days I am planning on visiting the Eiffel Tower, Lourve, Notre Dame Cathedral and Arc De Triomphe. Should i buy tickets in advance? especialy for the Eiffel Tower?...More

having just returned from a week in Paris, best tip without any doubt is to buy tickets in advance for the ET, but and big but..this does not mean you can avoid queuing. Put it this way, we booked for a 1300 entrance on Weds last, arrived at the "gate" at 20mins early, only to be told to come back at 1300, OK fair enough. When we duly returned at 1300, there were circa 100+ in front of us trying to get access, and this is the line thru to the security checks, thereafter its relatively...More

Hotel Recommendation Located Near Concorde Square (9 Replies)
Hello, Now that I know where we will be dropped off, I would appreciate any hotel recommendations for the Concorde Square area for mid-November in the 160-$200 range. Will probably only have time to see the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral. Thank you! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

We loved the hotel brighton on rue de rivoli. There are several hotels between place Dr concorde and place de palace royal on both the rue de rivoli and rue st honore. Then you can easily do a river cruise for your sites or even use the get on get off boat bus.

I see you asked the same question a week ago, and that you are actually a group of six people https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowTopic-g18… Do you now understand what the six of you need to do, or do you need more help?
