I have been visiting France on a regular basis for a number of years and had always wanted to see the Bayeux Tapestry, but had not coordinated a trip that matched my travel plans until yesterday (I was not dissapointed). The tapestry is well worth the modest entry fee. It is well presented behind and subtly lit behind protective glass.... More

This is an amazing part of Normand history. There is the beautiful tapestry and explanatory headset, and after there is an exhibit hall and film.

This museum is a must-see when visiting this lovely corner of France. The tapestry, telling the story of the Duke of Normandy's victory over the English in 1066 is magnificent and richly detailed. The audio guide, which narrates beautifully all the scenes of the tapestry, is also well done and easy to use. All in all, the museum is a... More

It takes about 30-40 minutes to go through and it's truly amazing to see the workmanship from 1,000 years ago still surviving. The story is great with every gory detail of the Battle of Hastings 1066 finely handcrafted in vivid detail!

We enjoyed our viewing of the famous tapestry which is indeed beautiful. The crowds can be a bit off putting. We highly recommend taking the audio portion offered when you enter the room where the tapestry is displayed.

Having read the reviews we decided to visit the museum and glad we did. The audio guides really help bring the tapestry to life. The detail of the needlecraft is amazing and the piece of history is well described in the different sections. The total length of the tapestry is 67m.

having seen the tapestry on tv, you don't get the impact of seeing it in the flesh. the extraordinary needle craft required, the fine detail encapsulated around the main theme. one could spend a day looking at it in detail. but with the crowds not possible/ the spoken word enhances the experience.
