We've heard the stories of this battle in many different ways over the years, through books and movies. But nothing compares to having them pulled together in this one place. There is a lot of information here and hard to digest in one visit. I want to go back and see more. It is a sober reminder of the significance... More

We visited this museum on a day trip - along with the British Cemetary just along the road and the Tapestry. You can get combined tickets here for the two (Cemetary is open access) or in addition combined with the art museum which we chose not to visit as we had our two children with us. The staff on the... A wonderful museum that captures a record of some of the most significant aspects of D Day as they happened in this area of France. This, coupled with the graves just a few minutes walk away is a must-see for anyone visiting the area.

Plenty to see and well organised. This is part of a three museum tour including the tapestry. The walk is well worth it as you go through some delightful streets between them. Bayeux is a lovely town with many interesting places and views. It has excellent camping facilities for Camper cars and tents.

Would have liked more interactive features to keep children interested and learning more. Can see photos on here of a cemetery but we didn't see this on our visit to this museum, not sure how we missed it, although it was pouring with rain. Cheap enough to enter. No cameras allowed.

Incredible experience! We stayed in Bayeux overnight and spent about two hours at Omaha beach. I would estimate at least two hours for the visit to Normandy. We could have done a day trip from Paris but glad we didn't. Bayeux was a lovely town and lots of great shopping and seafood!

A good WW II museum very close to the centre of the town. Lots of pictures, dioramas, explanatory panels and videos to provide a detailed persecutive of the battle. Well worth the visit.
