Absolutely shocking. A tiny square of tatty sheds selling the kind of stuff you'd find at a town market anywhere. Mainly mass produced crap - complete rip off. Took 5 mins max to go around. So bad it was funny. Lille was lovely but please don't go for the market.

Market is located in a small square (Place Rihour) Only a small number of stalls most selling the proverbial Tat. Not worth a visit at all. Keep going into Germany. Visited 4 Dec 15

The actual market is tiny with very few Christmas stands, more like a normal market. However Lille itself was lovely so it wasn't the end of the world!

We specifically visited Lille for the day for the Christmas Market but was really disappointed. There are only 30 stalls (the pictures made it look a lot larger) and we walked around them in about 10 minutes!! There were more crepe waffle and hot wine stalls then anything else. We walked around the town through all the cobbled streets and... More

We wanted to try a French Christmas Market this year. We've done Nuremberg which was superb, and Bruges which was good. Lille's market (free entry) is in Place Rihour and the variety of stalls and quality of items on display were good - enough to spend a couple of hours wandering around, and several food and drink stalls - we... We visited Lille at the beginning of the Christmas Market. The centre of the Place Rihour was filled with the traditional wooden huts selling an array of gifts, food and drink, including regional specialities. All stallholders we spoke to were very friendly and explained their products. All around the area are bars and restaurants and it had a lovely feel... More

A lovely area in the bustling centre of Lille, this 'place' has numerous restaurants and cafes to choose from, each with its own style and menu specialities - convenient for the Metro with a station, also taxi ranks nearby and easy walking distance from most other city centre facilities.

A nice little square with shops, cafés, restaurants and the tourist information office, and close to the Vieux-Lille. The tourist office is located in the guard room of the building built in 1453 by Duke Philippe the Good of Burgundy. The building was badly damaged by fire and remained empty until it was taken over by the city’s tourist information... More

It is a nice place especially close to the vieux lille and grand place which is an attraction area for all the tourists. There are good coffee shops and restaurants near Rihour and it is also front of the tourism office which makes is a good point
