A lovely market for fresh produce. The indoor part has excellent cheese, meat, fish and fruit plus some great street food stalls. Outside is more like a flea market. We never felt threatened at all but like most towns and cities in France has its fair share of beggars. Take normal precautions for your valuables and you'll be fine.

I visited the market on Saturday so there was no outdoor market, only indoor. This is a small but very nice market to get local food product.

Well worth a visit. Inside is great for foodies with excellent stalls for meat, seafood, fish, cheese, etc. as well as outside street food. The market spills out onto neighbouring streets and you can buy fresh fruit vegetables and herbs as well as clothing, shoes and accessories. A great Sunday morning trip!

The Marche de Wazemmes is a log of fun - people shopping for new second-hand goods or clothes, bric a brac, having coffee or a beer with friends, buying bunches of fresh flowers, or fresh meats and cheese in the covered market.

A local took us here on a Sunday morning to experience the atmosphere and choice on offer. A huge range of products on offer - fresh and street market food, clothes, fabrics, household linens, antiques, toys etc etc - and much with an Arabic/north African theme. The central 'Halles' food market which is there every day was also very popular... More

full of rubbish, pickpokets and with the occasional salafiste, its perfect for the burka brigade but if you are looking for a French market ie no pickpockets no salafist value judgements (this market is unsafe for for white women) and no of packs vieled creatures haggling over the price of ten kilos of rotten vegetables, go to the market in... A word or two in reply to the reviewers who felt unsafe or rated this market as tatty or sub par. Okay it doesn't have the ambiance of Nice's Marché aux Fleurs nor the immense selection of the Marché aux Puces in Paris. But I love this market, situated in a blue collar area of the town and frequented by... More

The Wazemmes Market is something everyone must see at least once while in Lille! It is overwhelming at first, so I suggest visiting the shops inside to start. See the spice man in the corner, grab a local painter's work next, and then a few veggies before heading outside. You can find everything from hair dye to olives while wandering... More

Ticking all the boxes this place is a gold mine for bargain food hunters. most of the French Born stall owners here are the ones to buy from as their produce is just incredible and lasts a lot longer than their competitors who are slowly taking over with their bottom of the barrel foods and halal certification tax not to... After spending the weekend in Lille we were unsure what to do on the Sunday because everywhere is closed. We found this market listed in our guide book and decided to give it a try. We had a half an hour walk from the town square to this market but it was well worth it. A bustling market with vibrant... More
