when staying in Lille and walking around, the building of the old stock exchange can not be avoided. This ancient building certainly has its historical value and you should walk through. It is certainly not a top location.

a wonderful old book market with fantastic old illustrated papers going back to the beginning of the 20th century and tracing the lead up to both 1st and 2nd world wars as well as fashion of the times. No books in English sadly.

There was a small market section on the Sunday morning but later on when we passed by there was a lovely dance performance going on. Quaint!

We visited Lille for the Euro Championships and on the day Wales were playing Belguim the city was bursting at the seams. As we walked through the square, one second we were in the middle of a crowd singing and the next we were in the Old Stock Exchange in the quiet and tranquillity of a beautiful building. The stalls... More

A magnificent building adjacent to the Opera House, the old Bourse now has stalls selling old books, prints and maps. Well worth a browse to look around the courtyard or to see what bargains are on display. A constructive use for a now redundant building.

The Old Bourse is situated in the central historic part of Lille adjacent to the Theatre and Chambers of Commerce. The building is strikingly beautiful and typical of the historic architecture of Northern France and Belgium (Flanders). Inside there is a book, painting and art prints market situated in the central courtyard. We bought some lovely old French car and... More

This fine old building in the centre of Lille has been maintained to a very high level. There are a number of small businesses on the ground level and a nice courtyard inside with numerous stalls. Well worth a visit.
