Not much to see apart from the walls surrounding the area. The main part is closed for training of the Quick Reaction French Force. The area around has been turned into a lovely grassed area where you can walk or cycle along purpose built paths. There is a playground for children and a free zoo. A lovely afternoon.

Nice place for a walk or run. Really popular with local families. Dogs galore. You cannot go in since it is still a military base. Built by Louis the 14th.

You cannot go inside the Citadel as it is now a military area. You can walk around the Citadel but there is nothing to see except a few old bits of wall. It is a nice park to walk or jog.

Great place for a fairy peaceful walk close to the busy town centre , circular footpath that goes around the main structure , shame that the actual centre is not possible to visit as it is a working military installation

I'm sure it is of historical value and looks impressive but regrettably it is still an active military base so no entry to un-authorised personnel!!

Really nice park which is also dog friendly. It has a free zoo and some lovely walks near the river.

Due to major construction works and alterations to the local vicinity, it was not possible to view the Citadel from the inside. Outside, it looked suitably imposing and strong. Having made the walk through the park, from the zoo, to specially view this, it was disappointing to discover that entrance to view the inside was not possible. You could only... More

A nice little walk in a patch of greenery. Worth pairing it with a visit to the zoo if you can! It's a little walking from the closest metro station, so if you have issues with the distance. Take the bus. But it's a fun activity when the weather is nice!

We rented a bike with the city bikes and we had a refreshing ride across this extensive park. The air was chilli and the sun was shining across the trees. Partially wild, we found it beautiful and I was glad I visited it by bike as it is a maze of moats, paths and roads.

A very pleasant area of the city with plenty of room to stroll, cycle or run amongst trees along grass bordered paths to see the remains of the old citadel . The area also contains a quite extensive children's play area with refreshment kiosks , a large open area where on the day we were there a circus was was... More
