Booked a night crossing but in error 24 hours out. They were really unhelpful and wanted £90 for a ticket originally £27. Refused and booked with P&O who would only charge an Admin fee. Will never use again as wrote to complain but their letter back was basically a finger up

We returned from Dunkirk using DFDS. We had paid a small supplement to upgrade to use the sea view lounge. The ship was very busy. There was a long queue for food and when we eventually reached the servers area they appeared to be fairly disinterested in looking after customers. We did not have high hopes for the standard of... As per the other reviewer we booked the ferry to avoid the Sangatte issues. Also every crossing on the chunnel recently has been an endurance exercise to get into the terminal (4 hrs on the French side in Feb 2015) and then the terminal buildings themselves being crowded and expensive. The ferry crossing was literally a breadth of fresh air.... More

Normally good on our return journey we had to go home early checked site was less than what we paid understood that we would have to pay administration fee turned up at Dunkirk charged an extra 54 pounds .ferry was nearly empty when we boarded . Ferry.in a dirty state meals looked unedible. Staff could not care less.

This was my first time using DFDS but have crossed the channel many times from different ports. We went over on a Wednesday and the boat was only half full, we returned on the following Sunday and it was full, the only problem here was trying to find a seat. The onre thing I will comment the company for is... More

We booked our crossing some time ago (to Dunkirk) because we were worried about the migration issues at Sangatte channel tunnel crossing. We paid for priority booking (£10 each way) and it was money well spent; we were within the first five vehicles on / off the ferry on each journey and the priority deck was largely empty. The ferry... More

Travelled on 12.00 from Dunkirk to Dover on 8 Feb 2016, when Storm Imogen was raging. The ship departed on time and the captain - clearly a fellow Yorkshireman by his accent - gave us lots of info re the crossing, use of stabiliser fins to keep us comfortable, and possibilities of delays at Dover. The crossing was indeed rough,... More

Whenever I take the car to and from France I travel between Dunkirk and Dover on DFDS ferries. Please note that the Norfolkline business was acquired by DFDS a few years ago. DFDS ferries are generally punctual and provide a clean and efficient service. I always travel this way. Please note that the terminal facilities in Dunkirk are basic but... More

I have never been in such a dirty public area as the ferry port at Dunkerque. The place needs knocking down. The toilets were not fit for human use. The drinks machines didn't work at all, not one of them. We would advise you take your own snacks and drinks for the car wait there.
