I have used all the ferry operators that sail from Dover to France over the last 20 years. We put bikes on the roof of the car. We chose DFDS as the price was competitive. Despite there being loads of room on the decks with higher headrooms, We were surcharged £60 for exceeding the 1.95 m headroom. They said they... More

Just the same as any other ferry from my experience. However, the restaurant food is awful and the whole area is filthy, see pic

used the DFDS Dover - Dunkirk route last week. Boarding was quick and efficient; the ferry are clean and comfortable and the staff in the Premier lounge were brilliant. Disembarking at Dunkirk was also quick and easy; helped by the fact that there are fewer ferries using the port. The port at Dunkirk is south of the main town, which... More

It was our first time on the DFDS ferry between Dover and Dunkirk and it was all very easy. Driving on and off was easy with clear directions and the ferries were on time. The Dover terminal has a few services and a couple of shops to cater for travellers and also supply requirements for the car,e.g. headlamp convertors, high... More

We were booked to sail from Dunkirk to Dover at 18:00 hours on Sunday 31st July 2016. Due to DFDS's computer problems we were stuck in a traffic queue for 4 hours and finally got a place on the 22:00 sailing. It is bad enough that we were delayed do long, but we were not informed by DFDS about the... More

Booked a night crossing but in error 24 hours out. They were really unhelpful and wanted £90 for a ticket originally £27. Refused and booked with P&O who would only charge an Admin fee. Will never use again as wrote to complain but their letter back was basically a finger up

We returned from Dunkirk using DFDS. We had paid a small supplement to upgrade to use the sea view lounge. The ship was very busy. There was a long queue for food and when we eventually reached the servers area they appeared to be fairly disinterested in looking after customers. We did not have high hopes for the standard of... As per the other reviewer we booked the ferry to avoid the Sangatte issues. Also every crossing on the chunnel recently has been an endurance exercise to get into the terminal (4 hrs on the French side in Feb 2015) and then the terminal buildings themselves being crowded and expensive. The ferry crossing was literally a breadth of fresh air.... More

Normally good on our return journey we had to go home early checked site was less than what we paid understood that we would have to pay administration fee turned up at Dunkirk charged an extra 54 pounds .ferry was nearly empty when we boarded . Ferry.in a dirty state meals looked unedible. Staff could not care less.
