I recently visited here and whilst the gardens are lovely, it was very busy with lots of selfie lovers not caring about other people trying to take a quiet moment.

I sat on the grass but was promptly asked to move although it was acceptable for kids to be running around on the grass.

I have a vlog of my experience, please feel free to search for Beckyboos Travel Adventures on YouTube for more info.

My rating would be higher except that I’ve been to the real Japanese gardens in Kyoto so my expectations were probably too high. It is a nice reprieve from the city - very quiet and serene, not busy at all. Well manicured and thoughtfully done. Okay - I convinced myself to up my rating, for effort. If you go to visit be sure to check out canal du midi which is very close.

For me, the Jardin Japonais is standard on my walking tour when I receive friends on a visit. It is a nice relaxing place to have a walk, pauze for a while. You can even look at it with some educational added value and learn how a Japanese house was (or is?) constructed. The entire park around it is nice to spend some time, even if (in my opinion) it is not is the most attractive part of the city.

It is obvious how much work has gone in to creating and caring for these gardens. It's just we expected a little more I guess. Tranquil vibe. Not well signposted and had to use google maps rather than local signs.

I really enjoyed the serenity and the authenticity of the gardens.
Was not ipen the furst day I tried (Sunday) . But next day was.
It took about an hour to visit it thoroughly. i caught public transport bus and it was easy to find.

A lovely place to visit alone, as a couple, group or family..

It's a park inside another park. The Japanese Garden has an interesting explanation (in French) of how to build a zen garden the meaning of each thing. It's worth the visit for the amazing pictures, but also for the peace you feel.

They have done a nice job of making these Japanese gardens. It is completely fenced off, only one way in or out. There weren’t many people there, but some teen girls sitting in the shelter (pagoda?) were rather loud.

It's a very small garden in a larger park. Free entrance but not worth it unless you are in the area (nothing else around there) or spending a few hours in the park which has a good playground for kids.

It is a beautiful garden. There is a section for children playground and a cafe there too. Another section is a pond with a fountain in the centre. See fishing activity there. There are many beautiful flowers in the park.
