In the old brick Donjon du Capitole building on the corner of Charles de Gaulle square, is the home of the Office de Tourism de Toulouse. Located between the back of the Capitole and the metro station and once used as a facility to hold the city’s Gunpowder back in 1525. Originally part of the Capitole with its Flemish style Bell tower, it was restored by Viollet-le-Duc in the XIX Century, and in 1928 became the headquarters for the city's tourist office. We found the staff were very helpful and spoke perfect English, they even gave us a free map of the city sights. There is lots of information books and pamphlets on the shelfs, and for the tourist looking for a gift they have a gift shop. TIP: There is so much to see in Toulouse that this should be the first place you go to for information.

I bought a 48 hour pass online via Viatour. I went to collect it form the tourist office and the staff were a little confused as they'd never had one sold via Viatour before. There were a few museums that were closed which is disappointing. It was also not that clear online exactly which museums were included for free. I took advantage of the airport bus on the way back which I beleive saved me EUR8 but overall the pass cost EUR28. I visitied the following places; 1. LA CATHEDRALE SAINT-ETIENNE - this was free to visit anyway. 2. JARDIN DES PLANTES - also free to visit anyways 3. JARDIN JAPONAIS - again free 4. LE MUSEUM DE TOULOUSE - this is the natural history museum which would cost EUR7 5. Musée des Abattoirs - very odd art here but interesting. EUR3 but included in the pass 6. Musée Saint-Raymond - this was fine for a little walk around. Personally for me it wasn't a brilliant experience however if you love museums then it might work well for you. I have completed a few vlogs of the places I visited so feel free to search for Beckyboos Travel Adventures on YouTube.
