This is a small museum with artifacts from South, Southeast and East Asia, as well as Egypt. Not a big display of anything, but what we had interest in, we found to be quite fine - specifically the Chinese porcelains and the Japanese woodblock prints. The latter are displayed horizontally in individual drawers that pull out from cabinetry. I believe the exhibit materials rotate regularly. There was an exhibit of Cambodian sculpture when we were there. Interpretation is all in French. I suspect this is not a museum for everyone, but worth a visit of you are interested in Asian art. There is a nice little gift shop in the basement. Once we spoke a little French, we found the staff to be very welcoming and enthusiastic about the collection, and informative about other destinations in Toulouse. After our visit, we walked along the Canal du Midi to the port area, and then back to the center of town - a nice afternoon.

The museum is south of the main city centre, close to the Canal du Midi and a ten to fifteen minute walk from the war memorial arch.
Set in its own garden, this museum holds a wonderful collection of Asian and Egyptian art and artefacts. Although not a large museum, the standard / quality of the exhibitions is excellent; surprisingly so. We will have to try and return another day; there was so much to take in! The architecture of the building is also interesting and very much in keeping with the collection it holds within. Well worth a visit.

I like museums, I like mysteries and I like mummies! Hier you can find all the three. But one thing was not nice at this museum. Not turist friendly. Everthing is written only in French. Anyway for me it was worth it the visit. The entrance it is only 4€.

An interesting array of artefacts in a small and unassuming building outside of the centre of Toulouse. The Asian part of the ground floor was the best exhibit with some interesting pieces however my reason for the lower mark is because there were no descriptions in English meaning we couldn't fully appreciate the history and purpose of the objects we were seeing, as beautiful as they were. The Egyptian exhibit is OK. It has a mummy that you can see which is impressive but the exhibit is quite small. Having been to the Egyptian museum in Torino, the largest outside of Cairo, along with having no English description of what we were seeing it was difficult to get too enthused about this.

All in all a nice museum that would have got a 4 if it had English descriptions to help me appreciate the items further.

This tiny collection on 2 floors of a house has no English signs, and is of a couple of dozen Asian and Indo-China statues etc, and a few Eyptian relics, including 1 mummy. If you’ve seen these types of things before don’t waste your time walking there or your €5.
No discount for seniors, and none of the unfriendly staff spoke English.

Asian (China, Japan, India,...) and Egyptian museum that you can visit for free the first Sunday of each month (the ticket would be about 4 euros). You’ll find a real mummy and colorful Japanese printings. I really enjoyed it!

We gave our 12 and 14 year old children the task of finding sights in Toulouse and this is one of their choices. My 14 year old daughter just loved this museum. It had amazing and extremely interesting artefacts and even an actual mummy with a mini 14 minute video all about her! My children just lapped all of it up, having been interested in ancient Egyptian gods previously, my children understood most of what they saw and some of the stories behind it, but it would have been nice to have some translations, at least into english as it was hard to understand, particularly in the Asian section. But, the people were lovely and there weren't crowds inside there either, so it was peaceful and quiet and with a lot of attention payed to detail. Overall, this is a great place to visit!

Nothing can prepare to this step on to another continent ! Considerng the size of the city, the collection is unique !
Open all the drawers on the base floor, these Japanese drawings are unique and though most seem familiar, others might sketch out a singular face of Japan !
