Crossing over the Saint-Pierre bridge we entered a popular student square near the banks of the Garonne called the Place Saint Pierre.
Here there is a church called Saint Pierre des Cuisines, converted by the city into an auditorium for the musical gathering.
Around the square are many cafes and bars that stay open late at night. There is also a quay of the same name, that allows you to walk along the river Garonne embankment. Or you can take the large steps on either side of the bridge down to the water front. When we were there the students had hung a blond dummy from the bridge as a prank

TIP: Thursdays and Saturdays nights are happy hour (nights), and is very popular with local students.

This square is open on the river, you can just take large stairs on each side of the bridge to step down to the bank. But it’s also a well known place for several enjoyable bars to have a drink, watch a rugby match or warm-up before clubbing. Young and funny attendance.
Nice at day, often crowded and animated at night, especially on Thursdays.

The views of the river are nice from up there, but really nothing special here. There are a few restaurants and shops, but we thought it kind of smell funky in some spots.
