We joined Annie’s group for a Trip to Versailles and a concert that evening at Sainte-Chapelle in Paris. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and the being with the group. Annie had done all the hard work of planning our day, buying our tickets in advance and arranging our transportation. Being on the tour, we accomplished much more than we could have on our own. Since Annie is a French woman who has also lived in the US and the UK, she has a unique perspective that allows her to relate to our thinking and convert that into a better understanding of France. I also enjoy her podcasts which have helped in so many ways to learn more about France’s history, culture and customs. That information Aldo directly helped in our trip planning.

I would highly recommend tours by Addicted to France

I listen to Annie and Elyse's Join Us in France podcast, so was delighted when my husband purchased a spot on their Inaugural Tour of Paris for my birthday! I am an art lover, food lover, a shameless Francophone, and I love walking, so this tour was perfect for me. Each day, we met at a reasonable hour, and used a combination of metro, busses and walking (between 10,000-18,000 steps a day) to reach and explore a different iconic area of Paris. Elyse's knowledge of Art History is an absolute treasure -- I learned so much about the history and culture of French painting and sculpture. And Annie's organizational skills and acute awareness of culture is a real treat. Together, they are the perfect Paris hosts! For this tour, we selected our own hotels and some meals, which allowed tour members to adjust to suit their budgets. We also had a fair bit of free time to see sites not on the itinerary--I arrived a few days early and visited Giverny and Versailles. Free tip: Before you go, listen to their podcasts on the sites you'll visit. You'll gain a foundation for the trip, and get to know Annie and Elyse before you tour Paris with them. Highly recommended!

Excellent tour for newcomers to Paris and those who have traveled there before. The tour leaders -Annie Sargent and Elyse Rivin- were knowledgeable, very helpful and accommodating. They suggested hotels and provided helpful information tho travelers who came early or stayed in Paris a day or two after the tour.Elyse's knowlege of French history, art and the city was extensive, or more accurately, extraordinary! She showed and described artistic highlights in every museum for those who wanted an introduction and then shared deeper knowledge to those who were interested in more extensive information, Annie's humor, support, and kindness were ever present. WHen a problem incident occurred (unrelated to the tour leaders or tour), Annie was there to solve it. The restaurants at which we ate were EXCELLENT and of great value- surprising for Paris. The group was small (10 people) - couples, singles and a family, and all enjoyed the trip. I have traveled by myself and also on a few tours and can only say that the experience was a joy.

If you want to see the Greatest Hits of Paris without feeling overwhelmed with planning or travel fatigue and with a wonderful sense of ease and camaraderie, Addicted to France is the way to go.

We discovered Addicted to France through being fans of the Join Us in France podcast, which tour hosts Annie and Elyse produce every week. While the podcast itself a wonderful primer on traveling in France with lots of practical and fun information for planning your own vacation, we were thrilled to learn Annie and Elyse were going to lead a curated tour that lined up perfectly with our October travel dates. And while it turned out we were the only ones who signed up for the October tour and as a result Elyse would not be joining the tour, we felt spoiled rotten and very lucky indeed to have Annie all to ourselves! We were hoping for a trip of a lifetime and somehow Annie managed to exceed those lofty expectations.

So, what made this tour so great?

For one thing, we got that perfect balance between seeing a lot without ever feeling rushed. In one week, we saw and did all of the following:

Jardin Luxembourg
Boat tour on the Seine
Notre-Dame Cathedral
Place de la Concorde
Champs-Élysées
L’Orangerie
Jardin des Tuilleries
Opéra Garnier
Galleries Lafayettes
Eiffel Tower
Tour Montparnasse
Musée d’Orsay
Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis Church
The Louvre
Sacré-Cœur
Versailles
Place des Vosges
Sainte Chappelle (featuring a performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons)
Musée Rodin
Musée Cluny

And that’s not to mention strolls through Île de la Cité, Île St. Louis, Montmartre, and Le Marais. Yet even though we packed in all this sight-seeing, we never once felt like we were in a hurry or overwhelmed from over-programming. It always seemed that the second our feet started to hurt, we had arrived at our place or at a restaurant for a glass of wine and a memorable meal.

Speaking of the food, Annie knows some great, out-of-the-way restaurants. Each of the restaurants to which Annie took us had excellent food, local atmosphere, and reasonable prices. They say it’s hard to find a bad meal in Paris, but when we were left to our own devices at the end of the day, we managed to find a few. You won’t go wrong with Annie’s picks.

Annie is also full of wonderful stories that put the sights into context. Whether she was relaying the juicy details of the of the Impressionism scene at Musée d’Orsay, the near revolutionary destruction and literary salvation of Notre-Dame Cathedral, the legend of the pistol-wielding boy in Liberty Leading the People at the Louvre, or the tale of Garou Garou in Montmartre, Annie made it all come alive and made the details of our tour all the more memorable.

As great as Annie was at hosting us, she also made the arrangements for us to take some great tours. Thanks to Annie’s planning, we saw the King’s apartments at Versailles, took a boat tour on the Seine, got a guided visit at the opulent Opéra Garnier, watched a classical sextet perform Vivaldi’s Four Season against the beautiful stain-glass backdrop of Sainte-Chappelle, and had a highly educational and fun wine tasting. Annie’s planning saved us time, often allowed us to cut the line, and gave our experience an added dimension to appreciate. Annie also took care of the Métro passes and museum passes in advance of our arrival, removing one more worry from our planning.

Speaking of removing worries, one of the great, value-added benefits of touring with Annie is her excellent photography! Annie is a professional with equipment and expertise we and our iPhones do not possess. While it can be fun to take your own vacation photos, Annie’s shots came out better than we could have done. After the trip, she sent us the pics, carefully organized by date and labeled with helpful captions to help us remember details we would have forgotten. And because we weren’t taking the photos, we’re actually in them!

But the greatest reason we can recommend Addicted to France is Annie herself. From the first “bonjour” to the last “au revoir,” Annie was warm, open, gregarious, enthusiastic, and caring in a way that made us feel less like we were on a tour with a guide and more like we were sight-seeing with a knowledgeable friend. No question was too dumb; no off-the-itinerary request was too arduous; as a result, no day was too long. We could not have asked for a more considerate host.

Thank you, Annie and Addicted to France for going above and beyond to make our week in Paris even easier, more fun, and more memorable than we could have imagined.

Everything and more...
Annie and Elyse delivered on this, their first joint tour. There wasn't a question asked of Elyse that she couldn't answer. I have traveled to Paris many times but never utilizing a guide(s).
The sites and art came to life with the explanation/history and facts we were given by both Annie and Elyse.
Annie took a few of us to Père Lachaise cemetery and, while the others chose the Cluny. The tour was structured to maximize the week in Paris but the flexibility one had was appreciated.

We ate well, enjoyed an informative wine tasting and laughed a lot.
The group of ten, plus Annie and Elyse was a cohesive group. We laughed and walked, ate and enjoyed French wines.
I have been listening to "The Join Us In France" podcast since the beginning.
Highly recommend going on a future tour with these two.

I have been listening to the Join Us in France podcasts for several years. I use the great info since I have been going to France for months at a time every year since 2014. When I heard that Annie and Elyse were starting a tour - I wanted to join them. Because of my schedule, I was only able to join the tour for one day. That one day was a fantastic experience. I really enjoyed the group's company and everyone made me feel as if I had been with them from day one. I felt immediately like I was part of the "family." I would jump at a chance to take any future tours with Annie and Elyse.

This was my fifth trip to Paris. It was like rediscovering the pleasures of this beautiful city with friends and locals. Each day the tour leaders, Annie and Elyse, shared their intimate knowledge of Paris by leading us through interesting, entertaining and informative experiences, gradually revealing the many pleasures of Paris in new and different ways. The small group of 10 tour participants shared an interest and passion for the city, generating interesting conversations, new perspectives, mutual enjoyment and shared excitement. We visited several museums, toured neighborhoods, ate a variety of foods at local Parisian restaurants, and had some time to shop along the way. The 7 day tour brought new and unexpected pleasures each day. Annie and Elyse were warm, considerate and dedicated leaders and the companionship of the other tour members made the experience fun and interesting. Highly recommended!

My 20 y/o son and I joined Annie for a day tour of Versailles. Annie handled all the logistics for us. She went above and beyond in making our day fun and informative and we eked out every last bit of our day together (and ended up being there up until closing). Annie provided a great mix of history and personality that made spending the day together priceless!

Our trip to Paris was an absolute success thanks to Join us in France. The podcast is sooooooo informative that it allowed me to know what to expect and this way avoid any kind of issue. I was well prepared by listening to practically all the episodes some even twice Haha. The facebook group helped a lot too with very specific questions and I have to thank my fellow members for all of their advice as well. Dear Annie, my trip would not have been as fantastic as it was if it wasn't for you and your hard work. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting so much effort for us. Even my husband was surprised with how informed I was and how much knowledgeable I was about everything from the actual history,to the museums, the culture, the language etc. We had the most amazing honeymoon in the world!!! You are the best and your podcast is by far a true gem
