Great Views

At the chateau, there are ramparts. The views from the ramparts are marvelous. Views of the gorge, view of the village.

Beautiful views

We arrived early in Rocamadour at 9am and parked in the valley/gardens at the bottom. We made our way directly to the ramparts at the very top, by walking to the lower shopping street, taking the lift to the next level and then the fenicular to the top. Remember a 2 Euro coin for each person to insert at the turnstile to the ramparts. There are great views across the valley and town. Well worth a look, it wasn't too busy but we were there at 10 am.

Terrific views

Excellent vantage point of the valley and village below! A challenge for elderly or handicapped visitors. Can be crowded in summer.

Quick visit for great views

There isn’t much to do here, but you are afforded fabulous views of Rocamadour and the valley. It was only 2 euros per person. The stairs are steep and a little scary in places. Wear good shoes to Rocamadour or you will regret it.

Great views

Fantastic views. Just remember to take a 2 euro coin for each person to get through the turnstile. Some people may find it a bit hairy as you do walk higher up on metal steps which are a little exposed. But worth going.

Just A castle
Jul 2019 • Family
It's just a castle. The view is magnificent. The funny thing is, you have to pay € 2 to get in. While everything else is free.

Nice castle

Pay the 3.5 euro to ride the funicular and elevator it's worth it. When you do you will be able to walk around the chapel area, the shopping area and be able to take great pictures of the various views. It's a fun and pleasant few hours.

This is a must when visiting Rocamadour. Either take the lift up and walk down, the views are amazing. You will need a 2 euro coin each to go through the turnstile to visit the church. Quite a few steep steps to climb, but worth every step. The sanctuary is a special place too with different chapels to visit.

Spectacular view

Charming french castle, didn't expect to like it so much. Rocamadour is a a tiny village with a world-wide reputation. Built into the cliff-side on successive levels, 120 metres in length. It has only one street, a very lively one with its boutiques and restaurants.

Just the ramparts
Jul 2018 • Couples
Worth doing just for the views, but the ticket price does not give entry to the Chateau. However for two euros it should not be missed!
