Took train one way from lower free car park. Good value and certainly saves the legs on a very hot day
Takes you into village then drops you off. Driver does an amazing turn at the entrance in a very tight space
Easy to walk...More
A good little ride up to the cliff face town but only a ride not a tour as some are usually. There is a little audio description of the history while you are waiting to start the 5 minute journey. The return tickets are €...More
You have a number of options instead of using the train, for seeing the first level ?? park at the top and come down by the chateau and get the lift back up. I thought 7 euros for me and my wife was a little...More
This little tourist train seems to get a slating in the reviews here but if you want to avoid a steep climb, are tired at the end if a busy day, have kids or buggies or it's very hot then this is definitely worth it!!!
Train driver had a serious attitude problem and was very rude and unhelpful. Instead of parking in the valley and using this train I would recommend parking at the top, walking down as you get some great views and then using the lift in the...More
Used the train as we parked next to the river, and we go off at the first stop at the top, this suited us as I am no youngster in fighting trim, so this suit us to the ground, we had a stroll through the...More
An hour and a half trip starting at 9pm well worth the money from the campsite at L'Hopital to the town with a 30 min stop to take photos. Then all the way up a road opposite the city for amazing views of the lights...More
We caught the train because we thought it would save us time getting to the village. However in hindsight it would have been better to get the exercise and walk to the top. Once you wait for the train to arrive it's hardly a long...More

The roads are not to bad leading to Rocamodour the road down to the river from the north is narrow and twisty, the car park is quite large and a small walk to the small road train, this takes you back up the road and into the town, and does two stops before it descends back to the main pickup and drop off point by another route . Just get on and off the transport as you wish, could walk back down as ok if you want, it's just that steep accent that made us use the road train back up.

Hi, my answer is pretty similar to the one above. If you're lucky, you can park your car pretty close to the train. We arrived mid-afternoon and there was plenty of parking space. The train is just for transport and does not have commentary, It only takes about 5 minutes to the first stop in town. We walked through the town and halfway are the lifts that take you to the church, where I assume the Black Madonna is( a little bit of a walk, but all level). In the church there are steps everywhere, so not sure how mobile you are. It is a separate cost for the train and the lift.
