As part of the overall Rocamadour compex, thus stunning chapel to our mother is gorgeous. My wife and I loved our entire visit to this Basilica, but we were especially impressed by the reverence of this chapel. We lit many a candle and prayed for world peace among other things.

On our first visit we didn't have the opportunity to visit the sancturaies. This time we descended mid-cliff and marvelled at them

It is definitely worth visiting this Sanctuaire when in Rocamadour; it is worth the climb! Spend some time having a good look around!

We visited this church while we were in Rocamadour. The church itself has nothing original to offer. It is rather dark and the statue if the black virgin sits on top of the altar. Many tourists packed the place with kids shouting so that it was very noisy. Not much for a spiritual place.

I first visited Rocamadour as part of a pilgrimage with my lovely parents and my little brother - I was 15 yrs old and remember thinking "I've got to go back". Well it took me 54 yrs to do it, but it was worth it. This time I visited with my son. Such a lovely break. You literally feel you've gone back in time. The sanctuary feels so spiritual and the choir were amazing. There's lifts literally cut-out of the mountains which now, at my age, were really helpful. I knew I couldn't do the 'Way of the Cross' due to its steepness and my old age, so.........we took the lift all the way to the top and we did it backwards, i.e. I was walking downhill. The scenery was amazing. We only stopped for 4 nights, but we felt we had been away for much longer - the people in Rocamadour are just lovely. When our taxi arrived to take us to the airport, the ladies and gentleman than operated the lifts waved us goodbye - I felt so sad, as I really didn't want to leave. If God Wills, perhaps I'll get to go there a third time!

Amazing place to visit. The architecture is amazing and the organ carved into a ship looks amazing. One of a kind church built into the cliff face, great place to see

The sanctuaire is a nice one, but its location is impressive, located in the mountain. It must have taken ages to make. Entry is free.

The Notre - Dame shrine is attached to the Saint - Sauveur Basilica, so it is easy to locate.
And it would be a shame not to visit it because it contains beautiful works of religious art.
On the other hand, the places are very dark and you have to get used to the atmosphere of darkness to correctly distinguish the paintings affixed to the walls of the site.
The miracle is during the guided tour because the speaker illuminates the sanctuary with electricity while commenting on the exceptional history of this site.
