This was definitely worth the stop. We took the little tourist train from the centre and this was one of the stops. We took the train and stopped for refreshments at the top. Brief taking views of the surrounding area.

Hello, Thank you for your opinion and note ! We hope to have one day the opportunity to go to Switzerland discover the funiculars but for the moment we appreciate to be here , with a beautiful view of Lourdes and beautiful Pyrenees.

We were not lucky with the weather as it was cloudy but nevertheless decided to go to the top (reduced rate due to the lack of visibility). The little train journey is impressive, it's a bit chilly at the top so don't forget your jumper....More

The funicular gives an impressive view of Lourdes and surrounds, but we went for the mountain bike descents. There is a blue “debutant” course and a black expert course, plus a red enduro course which is much longer and requires pedalling. We stuck to the...More

Yes... The main part of Lourdes where a miracle happened will probably be too far for you and your group to walk. It was probably over a mile. I don't know about advance tickets. Good luck!

Hi! is anyone could tell me what # of bus should I take from 13, Boulevard De La Grotte, 65100 Lourdes ,Hotel Du Dauphiné to The Pic du Jer funicular . this is the note that I copy : The Pic du Jer sits atop the Pyrenees overlooking Lourdes, Tarbes and Pau. Obviously the views of all these places are spectacular. to get there you can choose to ride the funicular which is about a century old. The ride is beautiful and takes about six minutes to travel up the one km distance to the top....More

There is a regular bus service to the Pic du Jer leaving from St Joseph's gate entrance to the Sanctuary. Tickets can be purchased from the kiosk at the gate.

Public transport to Pic du Jer (3 Replies)
Hi. I will be visiting Lourdes in August and I need your advice. I was wondering if there is any public transport (bus) that goes to Pic du Jer? The Pic du Jer website mentions "city bus or little tourist train". I prefer to avoid the little tourist train and use the city bus instead but I read in MonCitybus that ligne S4 only runs during Rameaux. If not, can I walk to it? I stay in a hotel near Place Jeanne d'Arc and I don't have any car. Thanks for your advice!

From what I understand S4 line runs from Palm Sunday through 31 October. You can walk I guess if you are fit enoigh to climb!
