A place where pilgrims come from all over the world. It was touching to see so many people coming in wheelchairs to drink the healing water and visit the Virgin Mary's Grotto. The grandiose Sanctuary is build on a rock. You have to climb up the stairs to the basilica to see the beautiful landscape.

As a Christian I have visited the Sanctuary a number of times - last time 2 years ago after a toughly battled (mental) illness. Today I returned with my wife though she ' s not religious. Again wee were deeply emotioned by the atmosphere and more in particular by the many many volunteers helping the ill, disabled and elderly people... More

Real place of spiritual renewal - sense of God being close. Best to go later at night when less people around. Sit opposite the grotto or go in the main church. Try to avoid the ghastly modern basilicas.

This is a well known Christian pilgrimage site. Global as you quickly realise with people fro 100+ countries. It would be of interest to the non-religious, and is profoundly moving to the religious. To me, seeing Young people attending to the elderly, sick and even the dying was the greatest reward. We have some wonderful, caring and loving young people.

We was driving towards Spain and found this great place to take a break at. Sure there where a lot of people, but well worth a visit. It take several hours to go through in slow pace and look on all the architecture. Must add one word extra to this place...devotion

Ok this review might appear a bit unfair as I'm not particularly religious and I'm sure if you were on a religious group trip then you would probably have the time of your life... However if you want to get a glimpse of serenity or find some form of peace within the Sanctuary of our lady of Lourdes then visit... More

Attended mass and throughly enjoy the music and overall experience even though it was in French. The mosaics are amazing and take your time enjoying them.

The visit to Lourdes was very touching and enjoyable. The experiece of the structure of the church is simply amazing and the ambiance of the atmosphere was truely unforgettably rememberable.

An amazing serene place. Very helpful volunteers. In fact the entire town has this warm friendly feeling. From the hotels to passers by, the volunteers at basilica and vendors. All very helpful and friendly
