The number of people killed at Verdun was one of the biggest of WWI. Go visit it yourself, it is well worth it

This was certainly one of the most touching places we have been and one that most people who come to Verdun would be sure to see.

Sobering, educational. One should not travel to this area without planning to visit the battlefields of Verduyn

October 28, 2017 Ingrid Ferrand was absolutely fabulous. She brought WWI to life for us. She took us to the sites of many battles, lost villages, the Douaumont Ossuary, Fort Douaumont, the American Cemetery and to several German bunkers. It was a remarkable 8 hours....More

Not a good option as you definitely need some sort of personal transport, especially for a day-trip. Check car rentals or a private guide with provided car.
