A quite different way to experience a chilling historical tale. An underground trail in a remote controlled buggy. The use of sound light, film & tableaux make this a memorable experience.

This is under rated. This site is a must. The tour is available in English, French and German. Joining on a moving shuttle ride, you're taken through history from the start of the war to beyond the cease of hostilities. This emotion and thought provoking...More

We are seeing several of the historical monuments this week. Each one tells the story from a slightly different angle. The selection of which unknown soldier was selected to be buried for entombment at the Arc de Triomphe was interesting. Multiple languages are served through...More

We went to see the underground Citadel. We joined a 30 minutes tour where we were seated in a driverless kind of small wagon taking us through a number of wartime scenarios from the citadel, some of them being shown in a holographic way. We...More

The citadel is visually enormous externally but the tour is very different to anything else locally. You sit in a preprogrammed oversize golf cart that requires no driver or guide. It takes you through the tunnels on an audiovisual experience using videos, props and lighting....More

An excellent audio-visual “train ride” through history. Head-sets for non-French speakers. A novel insight to the conditions and experiences of French soldiers defending Verdun during the First World War.

Visit the Verdun Battlefield (6 Replies)
Hello, I would like to travel to Verdun from Reims in October. I think I'll spend a day to visit the battlefield of Verdun. I would like to ask is a day enough to visit these places: American Cemetery, Mort-Homme, Trench of the Bayonets, Fort Douaumont, Fort de Vaux, Citadelle Souterraine, French National Cemetery Verdun and spend fews hours in the city of Verdun? Usually what does the weather like the region of Verdun in the end of October? Sorry for my English!
