Nice
Dec 2019
We were able to go in with ease, open doors like any amazing worship place
Nice monuments and great finishes
Yet very simple seats and furniture
A bonus is the Christmas market just outside

Where the Christmas market is
Nov 2018 • Family
This is the location of the main Christmas market since 2014. So if you are trying to get there, put this in as your destination. This was open when we were there, but it was Sunday and there was a service taking place so I only stepped in and stepped out.

ORDINARY CHURCH
May 2018 • Solo
I attended a nice mass, at this church, on the second Sunday of the month of May 2018.
What was curious and nice thing about this mass is that there was a dialogue between the priest and the attendees, and between the attendees between themselves.
It seems that they do this every second Sunday of the month.
The church does not have any special stained glass windows.

Lovely church with a pretty interior.
May 2018 • Solo
This was one of the few churches which I was able to enter in Nancy. The interior was quite lovely. And it is surrounded by markets and close to the center of town.

Nice baroque facade
Dec 2016 • Friends
While exploring the open air and covered market of Nancy around Place Charles III, we were struck by the Italian-looking facade of Saint Sebastian’s overlooking the square. So different from the many neo-gothic churches in Nancy: Saint-Léon (1860-1877), Saint-Epvre (1864-1874), Saint-Pierre (1865-1885) and Notre-Dame de Lourdes (1908-1933).

Saint Sebastian’s was erected between 1720 and 1731 and is the work of local architect Jean-Nicolas Jennesson. The two statues (Saint Sebastian and Duke Leopold) and the four vases resembling those on Place Stanislas are later additions (1882) and rather spoil things a bit in our opinion. The clock at the top replaces the coat of arms of Lorraine, which was removed during the French revolution.

Upon walking around the church, one discovers that it has two towers, hardly visible from the square. One of them belongs to an older building.

We had a look inside, but didn’t find the interior very interesting.
