With a two-week itinerary devoted mostly to the Rhine/Moselle Valleys and Alsace, we went somewhat out of our way for what turned out to be an interesting, informative and worthwhile change of pace. We’ve all heard about St. Joan/Jeanne, but her story and its impact upon French culture are brought to full light at the home, the adjacent museum, and the two nearby churches devoted to her life and death.

While you are here, buy the combo ticket for the Roman archaeological sites in nearby Grand. The mosaic there in particular is also worth a visit and provides for a more complete day.

There is also a lovely lunch spot here across the road from the parking area, but make sure you can speak at least a little French.

TIP: Arrive here no later than 11:30, tour the birthplace and museum before they close for lunch at 1:00, have lunch across the street, then head to the archaeological sites in Grand which reopen at 2:00.

The house is nicely kept though many villagers say that it is not the original place but the exhibit at the back of the house is very well done and is worth visiting; We enjoyed Domremy very much.

It's astonishing to be in Joan of Arc's home, particularly if you have read about her life and heard descriptions (from her second trial) of how she lived out of the mouths of those who knew her. The house is well-cared for. I visited in November and there was no one around. I had the house to myself. The exhibit about Joan's life and her times was also empty at this time. The woman who ran it very kindly turned on the videos and shows for me. It was very informative and seemed up to date with the latest historical research (i.e. not full of outdated ideas and discredited historical research.) Next door, the church where Joan worshipped and the font where she was baptised are open all the time. The bottom line is you have the chance to feel her presence, whether that's because you're religious or interested in history.

This is where Jehanne la Pucelle, daughter of Jacques Darc or Tarc and Isabelle Romée, and known to history as Jeanne d'Arc and Joan of Arc, was born and brought up. Outside one can find a statue of the maiden and in the hill above there is a basilica where Jehanne heard the voices.

This was the purpose of my trip to France. It met my expectations and more. The movie in the interpretive center was thought provoking and very well done. The restaurant, Le Payson de Jeanne, across the road from Joan's house was a wonderful surprise & wonderful.

We stopped here whilst travelling to Verdun. We were surprized to see this small house hidden in this small village. Soo easy to drive passed.
In front there is a lovely church with beaiutiful stained glass windows.

We hadn't been here in 20 years. This used to be just the house where St Joan of Arc was born and grew up. That is still great to see but now they have a museum too. The museum has a timeline of St Joan's life but all the display cards are only in French. To get the story in English, ask for the English tape to be run on their exhibit that features manikins in period costume. It's a little odd, but it will give you all the political background of events during St Joan's life. Then ask to see the English video (downstairs). It's probably meant more for children but you will get the full story. (They also have English versions of the brochure at the entrance.)
Beside the museum is another exhibit space where they have an exhibit on construction tools and techniques of St Joan's time.

Very interesting historical place, smaller than expected but well, still worth to see. A suggestion is to do the roundtrip and visit the church and cathedral in the area as well, as those are all related to Jeanne d'Arc

It is great to see the house Jeanne d'Arc grew up in, the church where she prayed, and the site where she saw her visions. The museum next door has a nice little film that summarizes her life and experience. I'm so glad we took time to see it.

The museum exhibit is all in French, but both the “theater” about the 100 years war and the video about Joan were available in English and were very helpful for understanding the situation at the time and Joan’s part in it all. Of course the house is very neat as well. Get a free “Pass Lorraine” for a reduced price, then go give the extra money to the church next door ;)
