Attractive building with grand staircase. There is an interesting variety of displays, quality of enamels, ceramics, mosaics, stone carvings, Egyptian artefacts, many paintings including couple of Renoir and Armand Guillaumin paintings. The gardens are a pleasant place to picnic with views over the town, although...More

The position is excellent as it sits close to the cathedral, the museum of the resistance, the river and the town centre. It is really well laid out and part of the exhibition is a history of Limoges from early times. There is an internal...More

I wasn’t impressed at all with this museum, a very small exhibit of Egyptian artefacts, the enamels weren’t very inspiring and the fine art was average. I wouldn’t bother. We also went to have a look at the gardens which were poorly attended. The museum...More

There's a fair split of exhibits from Egyptian antiquities to local enamels to fine arts including Renoir and Valadon, Limoges through the ages with some fascinating town models through the centuries. I found the art deco enamel s particularly attractive. Worth the 5€ entrance.

Traces the development of Limoges via a series of models. Good overview of history of the area plus a good Egyptian collection. The paintings, including some early Renoirs are good with a collection of fine porecelain pieces..

The museum is home to several permanent collections including some early Renoir paintings and a fascinating collection of models showing the growth of Limoges over the years. The real draw for us though was seeing how the Bishop would have lived as you wandered from...More

This building is gorgeous! Inside and out. It is worth a visit to see one of the most beautiful city halls.

So few visitors, which is unfair for this nice Beaux Arts Muséum. 3 small Renoirs , one Morisot, a few Guillaumin and others .. History of Limoges as well .. a real treat of quietness.
