Take a trip back into the middle ages - although you will miss the tripe makers and butchers that give this quarter its name. They have been replaced by little restaurants and the shops of a new generation of art enamellers. There's liquid refreshment for you to pause by the tiny Chapelle St Aurelian and take in the warehouse, stores... More

Rue Rue du Boucherie is like going back in time. It has gems all around and a please stroll amongst the many shops and artisan places to see. But don't keep your head down many historic and ancient religious aspects are about your eyeline in walls and fronts of buildings. Take time to visit the Chapel near the square and... More

Walked around the old town, which extends beyond La Boucherie - don't miss the other streets. It was deserted and dark on a crisp February evening. Atmospheric. You'll enjoy it.

There is not much to see in Limoges, but the town it's beautiful and the architecture is really beautiful. It is worth walking around on the streets, the little alleys and just enjoy the small shops and pop up stalls .

A little gem of a street, as you turn the corner . At the bottom of the street there is a small church tucked away on the right. The church is called Chapelle Saint-Aurelien.

Small streets of close-knit shops and boutiques. Lovely place to have a stroll around. Little old church hidden in the middle somewhere

On third Friday in October each year and for centuries this festival has been held. We had to sample some of the local delicacies on offer. Though beware most are not for the squeamish! A punnet of duck hearts? Pressed tripe? Or calves head? The locals loved them all and seemed glad of the excuse for a booze up and... More

Not much left of original Limoges but this is certainly worth the visit. Pretty buildings in their original state and interesting shops and and some eateries along the way.
