Set amidst the Place de Loge del Mar, the city hall of Perpignan offers an example of the ancient Catalan architectural techniques coupled with a repoistory of some of the art of Aristide Maillol. It also provides the opportunity to explore the ancient cultural history of Catalonia and France, which persists to this day.

It is a “must see” landmark. Worth the effort to find and take a photo with especially that is free.

It is situated right in the heart of the old town and well worth a sneaky peak as it is free. Very evocative and thought provoking. There is also a tourist info located here too.

A very impressive building in the old town, fronting onto a small square. Its a lovely building which is full of history. The Salle de marriage, though small is well worth a visit. There are 2 rooms with plush decoration which is very impressive. The Hotel De Ville is free to enter, there is a leaflet that explains the Hotel De Ville through the ages and a very helpful and friendly lady by the entrance to the Salle De Marriage.

We were looking for some tourist information about Perpignan and fortunately there is a small tourist office/branch/table here with some brochures, and a very friendly attendant, but as we looked beyond that table and saw the "wedding hall" - we could not pass up that opportunity, even loaded down with brochures and anxious to continue our sightseeing in Perpignan. Well, this is a great place to start. If you take a look at some of the photos that various tripadvisors have provided - you also will be tempted to take that five-minute break and go back in time, in shaded and cool comfort, in the Wedding Hall. Impressively decorated.

Not a lot to see inside, but a nice statue in a central courtyard with galleries around. We love the caravelle perched right on top of the corner, showing that Perpignan's prosperity depended on sea trade.

We were given a very interesting description by "Isabelle" who is the resident carer. The place was built for Napoleon who never visited!! It has a most interesting ceiling in the Moorish style which is similar to one in Granada. The paining also tell a story.

Easter Friday procession come near to here. This is another lovely building in the heart of the original city and beautifully set up for the festivities.
