Locally made fabrics

We visited Maison Quinta during our visit to Perpignan, France and were intrigued with their Les Toiles du Soleil fabric, made in a refurbished catalan cloth factory near the Spanish border. The fabric is thick and solid, and the colors are bright and varied. We were looking for a tablecloth to fit our table back home, and were so pleased when the clerk said they would make a custom sized tablecloth for us if we bought the fabric, and with the left over fabric, they made 8 napkins! The total cost was about what we would have paid for a remade table cloth. When we went back to pick it up a few days later, the clerk said they made the table cloth 10% longer than we order since it would shrink when washed. Real professionals, and great service...and they make a wide range of attractive bags, kitchen linens and other home products.

Not just a department store in Perpignan, but a real institution. Family-run for generations, it's like walking into a museum of contemporary home furnishings. Bright colours and well thought-out displays. If you need a present for anyone, they've got it.
It's like walking through the pages of Interiors Magazine...
