Nice and quick spot to stop off at. There are lots of shops and restaurants around. It is riverside and in the winter there is like a winter festival going around all around. The decorate each of the bridges that go across the river.

On our first ever visit to France and Perpignan we stayed at a hotel right next to the Historic Center of this city. The Castillet is the anchor piece for the historic center of Perpignan. It is a well preserved fortress that was used as a prison. It is very well preserved as a museum and there was plenty to see inside with its displays and artifacts. Plus the view from the rooftop was fantastic. There are 142 steps to the top...A number I correctly counted on the way down... The Castillet was a nice piece of well preserved history and is definitely worth a visit when in Perpignan.
