Six of us hired a small boat to travel along the canal. We saw a snake swim across in front us us and we're lucky enough to see a kingfisher too. It was very scenic and peaceful and I would certainly recommend it.

With boats moored along it's Quai side and the restaurants and bars set back from water behind a tree lined area, we enjoyed an evening stroll along the canal to the city centre and cathedral.

Taking a cruise in our own barge mid June 2018, the canal runs through pretty countryside, however it's in danger.....shallow in many places and extremely weedy in others that needs urgent attention. For the first 10 kms or so there are literally hundreds of discarded...More

In the middle of the city a nice canal - next to the old town0 there is few bridges to pass on - some restaurants and coffe shops on both of the sides- the best walk is from the Tourist information to the market
