Not an ordinary park!

How this is zoo is free is beyond me. They could easily charge €10 for entry. We seen plenty of animals and got really close to some we never gave before. Particularly enjoyed the lions, bears and zebras! Fairly easy to get to by the tram and then we walked up to the zoo about 15 minute walk. You may... More

Visited the zoo and it is free entry which is great, seeing the animals was amazing however there were a lot of empty enclosures and found ourselves to be walking around for ages without seeing anything. It was a very quiet day when we visited so perhaps that is why but didn't see any members of staff other than at... More

We really enjoyed this zoo as it is really a park with animals! It was great to walk in the shade ( it was very hot) and discover the animal enclosures. Amazing that it is free! The restaurant was also surprisingly good-we ate excellent salads there. Easy to get to using public transport-first the metro and then a bus. A... More

We took out 4 boys on a hot day. we visited the rain forest area first and that was worth the entry fees. lots of birds, animal, insect and fish life to see. This took about an hour, all the boys enjoyed this area and generated lots of questions from them. The main zoo is free and all the encloses are spread... More

The park itself makes for a nice walk but Im not too keen on the size/conditions of some of the enclosures.

Just don't go when it's really hot the animals will be hiding in the shade. There's a lot for picnicking and walking. You could make this the main activity and it's free!

No elephants here but it is a huge zoo. Rather rough walking if you are pushing a stroller. Lots of hills. Go early in the morning to take advantage of the shade as the zoo is large and very spread out.

Big zoo and it's free. But to be fair: nothing spectacular and similar to other, average zoos. But if you've some free time...

Average at best, but for a free attraction worth a trip if you're looking for a something to do for a few hours. There is a tropical section which you have to pay to enter, this was better than the main zoo but still quite limited.

Had read reviews that this was a free zoo and two thoughts sprang to mind... Only for locals carrying a council tax bill paid up in full or there will be a dog, cat and three fish! On arriving the car park was free, good start... We got to the entrance and a queue at a kiosk with price list... More
