So peaceful

We come here every time we visit Collioure. It’s so peaceful. Always light a candle to absent friends!

The Big Church in Town
Oct 2019
Not especially old and not especially pretty, but worth a visit. The gilded carved wooden altar piece cost 6 times more than the entire rest of the church.

Charming church with stunning altarpiece
Oct 2019 • Couples
It doesn't look much from the outside, strong and robust against the seas, with a tower that at one time was also a lighthouse, but inside is ordered and beautiful, with altars down the side and the focal point being the stunning gilded and carved altarpiece by Joseph Sunyer.

Interesting church and a great place to escape the heat!
Aug 2019
The Church Notre Dame des Anges is almost surrounded by the sea and a beach. The church was built between 1684 and 1691 and the bell tower is a former medieval lighthouse. The main alter screen is very impressive, and for one euro you have the screen illuminated.

On a hot summer’s day the church provides a pleasant escape from the heat.

Free to visit
May 2019 • Couples
Set on the waterfront this is a lovely place to visit while wandering around the town. As with other churches throughout Europe, it has it's own history.

Something of a classic
Apr 2019
As the subject of many paintings, the famous Clocher (bell tower) dominates the bay of Collioure. The church itself dates from the late 17th Century - inside are a number of interesting statues and scenes dedicated to various saints.

We took a day out to see Coullioure whilst holidaying in a nearby area and we were not disappointed
Such a pretty area in the Roussilion area although it does get very busy as it is very popular
Well worth a visit

We thought it was Cool
May 2018 • Couples
Literally. It can get very hot in Collioure and this dark cavernous church is refreshingly cool. Not the grandest old church I’ve seen, but nice just the same. It doesn’t cost anything to look inside.
The church is iconic In Collioure. So much so, there are Bronze picture frames facing it through which you can take a great photo.

Church by the sea
Oct 2018
This impressive church serves a dual purpose as both church and sea wall.

Because of its location, a very windy spot, in the lower areas where you would expect to find ornate windows instead there are carvings and statures. The smaller windows above reserved for the stained glass images.

A stunning building where you can go the the end and look out to see for miles. Unusual architecture and a very prominent feature of Collioure.
