We paid the chapel a flying visit on our way to the Medieval City, it really is a hidden gem.
This chapel was built by the congregation of the Dominican sisters in 1860, on the Gothic Languedoc style that was very popular with other religious sites in the city at the time of the second Napoleonic Empire.
It has a lovely central stained-glass window, and the rest of the interior is painted chalk white. In the past it was used as a girl’s school, but today it is a place for cultural events, like art exhibitions of local Occitan and Catalan artists.
When we were there was a collection of black and white photos on the one wall, and an interesting collection of Grain storage silos paintings on another.

TIP: Good place to take a small break from the sun on a hot day, and its free.

With walking the Cathar castle route you will become aware of the Dominicans, who were among the Inquisitors trying to rid the Languedoc of the Cathar heresy. The church is a good representative centre for this order of monks and an essential historical point if focus. It's also a lively place to sit and contemplate life.

The Chapelle des Dominicaines was originally a girl school and has more latterly been used to hold art exhibitions. Worth a short visit.

Exhibition on display when visited was a little spooky, dark and scary art which was not at all to my liking and not enjoyable to view.
