The cathedral is well hidden in the small streets of the city. The original church was built in the 13th century and has been remodeled many times since then. Inside it looks gothic, but with quite modern elements. Entrance is free.

This is a cathedral tucked in a corner of the new town. It is a nice visit but nothing outstanding. Difficult to get good pictures due to the narrow streets. Check opening times when you plan to visit as it closed over lunch when we were there.

I highly recommend seeing the cathedral in the middle of carcassonon. It only takes a few minutes and is easily accessible with no cost. The architecture is amazing and is worth a visit. Come here to get your Gothic fix.

Woke up early to tour the city without tourists. The cathedral is adjacent to our hotel. I was alone in the cathedral with the caretaker. It is a simple cathedral; elegant in its simplicity.

Very majestic and impressive Cathedral. It has been restored since a fire and is very well preserved.

This cathedral is a beautiful sight to behold and you should not miss it. The Stainglass windows will have your attention for definitely a few minutes if not more, they are true works of art. The history of the cathedral is a nice highlight to understand itself to increase the appreciation of what you are looking at. I recommend a visit here.

As of Oct 2017 part of the church is being renovated. This is actually a good thing... why?
because you can actually see the workers cut stone, high above. it gives you the feeling about how they build the church ( without electricity and buzz saws though :) )
great stained glass.
nice place for photos.
worth the visit
